I think on reading of the above and on my own experiences in the last month the key word here is inconsistent. Flew in J SYD-AKL and had probably the best service i have ever received on a flight (food good too). Then flew MEL-SYD J and had a beef dish I wouldn't feed to my dog! Also done...
