Thanks dajop I thought it was somewhere around 40k. I am out of my misery.
Shame I used to book those J flights a fair bit when I lived in Perth. Crazy number of points now!
Have been looking for this but cannot seem to find it. Please put me out of my misery someone.
How many points PRE MAY 2005 was a SYD-PER return in J??
Ta in advance.
It depends firstly on what type of aircraft you are on and whether they actually have a bassinet at the front... sounds like your flight will have so just ask again when you check in.
Usually im my experience you will get the bassinet seat however to be honest on a SYD-MEL flight you may not...
Hotels: Dave is correct although they can be expensive if not free. Depends if cost is an issue.
If you are staying with friends, family you can often get an AOL CD Rom which allows you to sign up for a free 3 month trial. You would have to use Dial Up and you may find your modem is not...
Just to continue this exciting thread - edge of the seat stuff
I just called Qantas again to use the credit. An efficient lady called Bernadette didn't even put me on hold and had the booking done in under 5 mins. Makes you wonder what some of the call centre staff are up to sometimes..
Now here's a whinge I have with QF telephone sales (my only one). Every time i try to get the money out of credit to book a new flight they put me on hold for ages.
In the UK recently over 1/2 hr - gave up waiting. Just now 22 mins then they cut me off. In the past it also seems to have taken...
Is anyone a member of the VS FF Scheme?
I am assuming most people are aware of their current double miles promotion for flights ex Sydney. My wife joined as she took a flight to Europe (Premium Economy) and has just received 62,000 miles which is already a good way to getting a wide range of...
e.g. old fare was $200, new fare is $250 and reissued in Australia...Amount charged is $250 - $200 + $33 = $88
Thanks thadocta and Dave Noble for your answers. The main thing is at least I now know that the $33 is only paid once.
The above example explains it simply but I am still...
Can anyone just clarify the QF rules when you cancel a Red e-Deal fare and pay the $33 to put the flight in credit.
I have done this a number of times and always seem to pay a few extra $$ when I rebook the flight, even if it is more or less the same price.
I know you have to repay the...
I think on reading of the above and on my own experiences in the last month the key word here is inconsistent.
Flew in J SYD-AKL and had probably the best service i have ever received on a flight (food good too). Then flew MEL-SYD J and had a beef dish I wouldn't feed to my dog!
Also done...
The key here is the aviation industry has to progress, as without this improvement lives are at risk.
Bill, I'd be interested in the results if you want to send a PM. I am very interested in this area.

Not trying to defend SQ but in all reality they have a very good safety record and would have to be considered in the top 10 airlines when it comes to safety.
Of course by the same token you cannot knock QF on this at all as they are also A1. Let's hope Jetstar and Australian keep this in...
