Quick tip: If you want to receive your 2 lounge invites sooner (and don't want to pay for flights), register for the lounge passes and then just purchase the $1 climate positive offset credit from the Qantas store. My lounge passes arrived a week later.
Managed to snag a ticket. All time slots except one were gone 5 minutes after the email was sent.

I was in a similar position - I just called and they changed it over the phone.
Might be easier to call ahead than change it on the day.
Ticket was then updated immediately with the correct (higher) status.
