For those watching the borders on here - what do you think are the chances of being able to go on a booked family visit to Sydney (from Melbourne) in the week before Christmas. Borders are open but I'm concerned Dan will slam them shut again if there is significant Omicron transmission in NSW...

I knew it wouldn't last! We finally booked a trip from Melbourne to Sydney just before Christmas to visit relatives. Hoping that NSW and Vic borders were the least likely to slam shut. May be too risky now.

I wouldn't even know where to get a *paid* COVID test - only know of the mass testing centres and you're right - they do only give you a text message. What is the other thing you need?

Can't you just go to a drive through testing centre? If you say you have a sore throat it's not like they check you for symptoms.

I don't think we ever did restrictions or border closures on rates per 100,000 people. It's always been total number of cases. In the case of WA it's anything >1, shut the border. Seriously does anyone see WA opening EVER while the virus is still around in the eastern states? I've been trying...
