Cancelling [VA fare rules & COVID-19 uncertainty]

Flight is scheduled for the 24th. There is so much uncertainty with this virus, and who knows if it will be a good idea to fly interstate later this year - might find myself in 2wk of home isolation!!!

Cancelling [VA fare rules & COVID-19 uncertainty]

Hi Gang I had an AMEX velocity platinum redemption flight for ANZAC day to go PER->SYD return that weekend. I seem to have two options - 1)refund money into travel bank 2) reschedule flights With option one; the total shown on "manage booking" is $435.49 - this won't cover a return flight...

Is it Time to transfer/withdraw points from Velocity?

I was looking for a thread like this. I just moved my 190k points over to krisflyer. Does that mean they expire 36months from now or from when I got them from my amex card?

First class redemption on Emirates - PER to CDG, then AMS-KUL

My plan was to definitely go into Dubai, maybe hit the beach/do touristy things. Main question is whether to sleep on they plane or just stay awake and enjoy the amenities

First class redemption on Emirates - PER to CDG, then AMS-KUL

Hi All I just redeemed all my qantas points for first class to Europe, on Emirates and I want to make the most of this. On the way back I have to fly into KUL because there isn't any availability to get to Aus. I have only had the chance to fly business (<5hr trips) on a handful of occasions...

    Crediting Cathay to QFF

Actually you're right, found it here: https://www.qantas.com/fflyer/dyn/flying/airline-earning#cx

There isn't any mention of "booking class" on the earn tables for the airline

    Crediting Cathay to QFF

It's a bit misleading if they have that points calculator which has the categories of "discount economy" and "economy" and makes no mention of "booking class". https://www.qantas.com/fflyer/dyn/flying/earning-terms This link does make mention of "booking class" but doesn't go into any further...

Thanks, I just had another look at the earn tables. Nowhere does it say anything about some fare classes being ineligible? Unless I can't find it. Even clicking through the fine print links it just links you back to partner airline earning table. Pretty confusing.

    Crediting Cathay to QFF

I just had a points claim rejected. Bought a ticket through expedia. Economy "S" ticket PER-HKG-PVG. Pretty disappointed that it earns no points/status, even though the points calculator suggests all economy seats get points... Have had a similar experience with Qatar. What's the point in flying...

QANTAS Treatment of Frequent Flyer Bookings

I didn't ask for compo. Ate my heart out when I got to Penang!!! Though before the flight I was looking forward to something something rockpool steak

QANTAS Treatment of Frequent Flyer Bookings

Flight was full (business cabin was full on an a330). I considered asking for an economy meal but was pretty shocked at what I was offered so I made myself small for the whole flight. In addition to the 50k points for the seat they slugged me $400 in taxes/surcharges. Even without pumpkin soup...

QANTAS Treatment of Frequent Flyer Bookings

That's correct. The lady came and asked what I'd like to eat; I went through the list and each choice of red or white meat was unavailable until she finally said all that they have is pumpkin soup. Everyone else had normal food and all i got was a "big bowl of pumpkin soup". Very disappointed

QANTAS Treatment of Frequent Flyer Bookings

I had a similarly poor experience. Flew per-sin business last year on a j redemption and as soon as i sat down they came to take my food order... And said only pumpkin soup was available and not any real meals. Wtf! I'm sure the hostesses knew i had a redemption flight and treated me like i...
