"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

It's not unreasonble to assume that if QF sells the equal (or close to) amount of reward seats to the seats that the program buys from other partner airlines, there will be a very small amount on the bill that changes hand between QF and their partner airlines. If QF lets you redeem tons of...

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

I suppose if QF removes some Classic Rewards, they will also be removed from the inventory shared by partner airlines as they are drawn from the same booking classes. Just look at NZ. They removed their version of the Classic Rewards under the disguise of "Air Dollars" more than a decade ago...

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

This is designed to trick less savvy travellers into burning more points without the need to release more Classic Reward seats, an approach Air NZ has been using to deceive Kiwis for ages. This will no doubt reduce the liability the QFF carries and thus making it even more profitable.

Domestic to International transit at DPS

I have booked an YIA-DPS domestic flight on GA and a DPS-SIN one on KL a few hours later. Questions are if GA will thru check bags on a domestic to interntaional connection at DPS and on a separate ticket. Is DPS such an airport that will transfer bags between different carriers like most other...

    Denied Frequent Flyer Claim

You are 100% spot on. What needs to happen between QF and their partners behind the scene should not be the customers' concern. You publish an earn chart and that should be what dictates the earning. What I think is happening is QF offshore agents making things up to get stuff off their backs...

    Denied Frequent Flyer Claim

You know what, as I mentioned above, I did try them for another claim. The airline did come back to me but it was the same team with the same BS answer. The Adcocate then said there was nothing more they could do to help.

    Denied Frequent Flyer Claim

Yes, I noticed. It's as if the original email asking me to send boarding passes was so that my reply would be another agent's concern. The agent never had any intention of solving my problem. I had a similar issue with a missing flight credit with China Eastern a while ago where I simply just...

    Denied Frequent Flyer Claim

Just an update on this claim. After sending my ticket copy and my boarding passes to QF, one agent replied and determined that the flights were eligible and asked me to forward boarding passes (which were attached to the email she replied from!!!). After sending my boarding passes again, a...

    ANA partnership with Virgin Australia

Doesn't mean it would credit. My last four AC flights with correct number recorded have been via retro claim. Their system is not working well with partners.

    ANA partnership with Virgin Australia

Regarding lounge access, I think I can understand NH's hesitation. If you have been to NH's lounges in Japan recently, you will find yourself struggle to even find a seat. Perhaps when the peak season is over, they will re-visit reciprocal lounge access but wonder how many people would jump ship...

    Amex free annual flights

I have now flown my return free flights and can report that they did credit to my AC account and are status qualifying (SQM & SQS).

Virgin Australia "Milestone Announcement" June 1, 2023

Interesting. Aren't they supposed to be more like a scooper?

Virgin Australia "Milestone Announcement" June 1, 2023

Joining an alliance would be a VA announcement not a Velocity announcement, wouldn't it? So we can basically rule that out. I just hope they will not move to dynamic award chart nonsense.

    Melbourne lounge access rookie mistake

The House had more food variety to my liking, such as noodle. It appears though that CX has removed The House as a lounge option from their website so not sure if they are still contracting The House after the new time.

    VA/Etihad partnership future?

I suspect you would have to argue/explain your VA status at most of VA partner airlines' out stations. This is the trouble of not belonging to an alliance when nowadays agents rely on the status printed on boarding passes. Does VA status appear on any of their partner airlines' boarding pass...
