Been a while since I've been on here as there hasn't been much happening on VM. The Glenlofty Shiraz 2015 is back on the BM, although not on the link provided in earlier pages here.

To be honest Buzzard, my palate probably isn't developed well enough to give an accurate answer to that, and with stocks in our household being as low as they currently are, it's unlikely I'll find out :) It did taste young though, as one would expect being a 2017, and not over structured. I...

Just a follow up. Cracked one / two of these open over the weekend. Fairly fruit forward, blackberry, cherry, maybe a bit of leather. Great quaffer for under a tenner a bottle.

All good and thanks for pointers - I ended up taking a case of the Amelia Ironstone shiraz having been a fan of the cab merlot previously. Might have to look for another case of quaffers though now having noted Buzzard's comment above :)

I'm interested to hear what people say about the Mitolo Cantiniere Shiraz because the previous vintage was pretty average and didn't go down too well with the peeps on this forum. For my own account and that of some of friends it tasted like a liquified black forest gateau. Way too rich.

They sent him an email saying they'd send Aus Post to pick the remainder up but they never did. At least not yet, and he's received the other bottles.

So my buddy told VM about the dud bottle and they sent him another case FoC. Can't complain with their customer service this time. On a side note, I opened a bottle myself last night. Really enjoyable.

On a similar note to the undrinkable Giant Steps, a friend of mine picked up a six pack case of the Haselgrove Lear. When he went to open the first bottle the entire foil top came off with the lid with very little force. The wine was off and had to be poured down the sink. He's only opened one...

I tried the Andevine shiraz over the weekend. I had it over two nights, I decanted it for all of about 2 minutes (I was thirsty) at the first sitting. Really savoury and green first time round, maybe a little too much for me. Much better the second night IMO after it had softened off a little...
