Just went to book next Saturday night in Melbourne and it's showing $1,437 for one night at the Doubletree. $882 for the Hilton Queen Street. Similar results for the next day. Is there something special in Melbourne that night or is Hilton now competing with Crown?!

Just made a call to Velocity and they converted the points fee to cash to cover the cancellation. I think the points would have been 9,000 for two passengers.

I just cancelled by online rather than phone. How many points do I get deducted for cancelling (as against the cash option)

I've a got a two-night stay booked with Charge/Reserve travel credits and I now can't travel to the city anymore. Can I change the bookings to another hotel in another city using the original travel credit?

You going to find it extremely difficult to find direct flights home from DXB. You might be able to fly via Asia in sectors, but that will take a truckload of points compared to flying direct. What month are you travelling?

Each partner probably does have a timetable, but sometimes they just randomly release award seats. Last month tons of September/October Qatar flights from ATH-MEL and IST-MEL suddenly appeared on VA's site, then within a week or so they were all gone.

I think someone on the forum confirmed VA award tickets do allow access to the lounge. I'd better search and confirm that to be sure.

I'm booked ATH-DOH-MEL for October in J on points, but I'm think of pushing the date further out and flying back on Singapore Airlines instead. The SQ flight is shorter and only $300 in fees vs $750 on Qatar. If I ring Velocity and cancel will I get the difference in points and fees back...
