    Could this work with Virgin

If you are talking about the ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures CC free flight, Odysseus is right about not being able to upgrade. See condition 7 within: https://www.anz.com.au/content/dam/anzcomau/documents/pdf/anz-travel-adventures-air-travel-benefits-terms-conditions.pdf

Qantas Assure Health and/or Life Insurance - 5,000 bonus (bonus) points

You (and I) can earn 5,000 QFF points for using referral - details below. Referral bonus is in addition to normal sign-up bonus (see details here: Online Health & Travel Insurance Company | Qantas Insurance) However, for an additional 1,000 QFF points, first follow the health insurance...

    Qantas Points Hacks Facebook Group

I think its just another channel to market their points regime and using 'hacks' to suggest some kind of allure of advantage/benefit. Not sure there is necessarily any trap.

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

I received the following email offer: 'Earn 250 points when you purchase PEDIGREE® 1.2kg wet dog food.' Its linked to a PetRescue support promotion (which I would be pleased to support). The offer period is 29/08 - 18/09 but says nothing about a purchase limit or whether it is per can. I have...

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

I am curious about this too - what impact (if any) the 'activate' step has in the system at an individual level. I bet it gets crunched at a higher level to measure email marketing engagement stats, etc.

How to make enemies...! [by weighing carry-on]

Jetstar seemingly weighing / measuring at gate pretty regularly of late. Probably to stop people taking the p**s and adding a bit of revenue to the flight (easy money!)

How do I get the most from my 2x free lounge passes

In theory at least (I've never seen anyone booted out for overstaying).

How do I get the most from my 2x free lounge passes

Chris, bear in mind that the length of time you can remain in the lounge per visit is limited. I think VA is only two hours max(?)

    Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

Agreed, I think it was just a case of bad timing. I got the same offer the same night, but had not yet done my first shop for my first of the four week offer.

    Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

My guess is that if you meet the minimum spend by any margin, they are going to up it the next time around. I recently hit a $50pw x 4 weeks offer at WW and each week I probably fluctuated between $10-40 over. The next offer that came on that card was $120pw x 4 weeks! I plan to rest that...

Good value first time experience with BoozeBud

I just wanted to report a good experience as a first time shopper with BoozeBud. I was a bit apprehensive after reading some online reviews. I ordered four cases of beer (2x Peroni Leggera; 2x Asahi Soukai) with list prices $4-6 dollars lower than Dan Murphys. I used the $25 off first order...

Australian Mobile phone providers: For use in AU & overseas.

If Telstra coverage is a key factor for you (as it is for me), there are a number of providers that utilise the Telstra network, but with much (much!) more reasonable pricing plans. These include Telechoice (I'm on this) and Think Mobile (some of their plans only - which I have been on in the...

The DXB endurance workout. Dubai airport is your very own PT.

Top effort Scott. Its a bit of a mystery to me: (a) how people actually organise a lift on those golf buggies; and (b) how they actually manage not to seriously injure more people based on how some of them are driven.

The true value of status - why NOT to spend to seek status...

I agree. There's cost/price (objective), then there is value (a bit of objective and subjective) and perhaps further still there is perceived value (totally subjective). There is also the fact that humans don't always behave entirely rationally.
