I'm in the same situation. I had a look what I could buy in the store, and the Sony 75" TV is worth about $2k, and around 700k points. I figured moving 1M points to KF would at least get my family of 4 return economy flights to Singapore twice, which is worth much more than that. It's too many...

Good idea - I will do that, I do hate the 7am flight out of Melbourne but even if I get a non refurb A330 out of Brisbane, I could put up with it for 9 hours. Plus my hotel room will be ready, rather than having to wait around until checkin. And I'll try to get upstairs on the 747 on the way...

Am I correct in my reading here that all international A330s should be upgraded by the time I'm planning on going to Japan in September? From Melbourne to Tokyo I have two options: 1. go via Sydney (then QF25 on a 747 to Haneda) 2. go via Brisbane (then QF62 on a A330 to Narita) I'm guessing...

Thanks, that is a great update post. It gives some indication on the chance of hitting a refurbished 330. I did a quick MEL-PER-MEL trip, and got the old 2/3/2 cabin with the middle seat blocked out. I won't bother booking J for these flights again - apart from a little bit of extra leg room...

No, just go to manage my booking. On board they weren't used to the change as they mixed up all the meals and special requests for the "extra" menu item. I put it down to teething problems.

yes I have on qf35 mel-sin in Y. It comes up as an option under manage my booking. It is being rolled out on selective flights.
