"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

I would in theory be LTQP, because I had unused QP membership when I first qualified SG. At the time I was informed that the balance of my QP membership year would come back to life if I dropped below SG. So I suppose once I rolled up LTG I got LTQP as part of the deal....Obviously a nonsense as...

Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

It should be in the list. Original Routing Credit - what you can ring up and ask for when they change your roundabout booking to a more direct one that earns fewer SCs.

Same here. I just booked BNE-SYD-BNE for one. That burned up the whole credit and more

I'd check with AMEX travel. As a travel agent booking there is little you can do on QF website other than select seats. Any changes need to be done through AMEX travel. The T&Cs aren't promising, with the prominent proposition that you lose your travel credit if you cancel. cheers skip

The pricing into regional Qld is pretty crook too, the sweet spot appears still to be BNE-ROK-MKY for a through fare of $169 and 40 SCs, about 4.22 per SC. Those fares are available for much of the year. cheers skip

No, it was the evening flight, and as luck would have it the only flight on the day with classic award availability. Marriage wouldn't last long if the anniversary present was a flight on a redeye o_O

Had a hunt around and pleasantly surprised to get MCY-SYD-AKL and return, 480 SCs for $1,943 or $4.04 per SC. Fares out of OOL are usually slightly less than out of MCY. The very cheap fares via MEL for 560 SCs I can never find. Seemed to be plenty of sale fare availability and the fare priced...

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Yes indeed, that was the AN lounge, back in the day when TAA ran Flight Deck, and after. Global Rewards was the FF program. I remember because I have my last GR points statement framed on my wall. Last time (every time) I walked into the BNE VA lounge I thought “Golden Wing”. I don’t recommend...

Japan Airlines plane in flames at Tokyo's Haneda airport

Sorry, can’t find the video now, drowned in later reporting perhaps, but a twitter image in post #23 suggests a few at least. As for injuries, some comment In this CNN report. No doubt who left from which of the 3 exits reported will come out later. Pretty amazing all got out, including the...

Japan Airlines plane in flames at Tokyo's Haneda airport

There was a comment upthread claiming that there were delays at the front slides because the slides weren’t steep enough. The steeper the slide, the faster the exit. There is footage about of people using that steep slide.

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

In the year 3000 I’d expect a forcefield divider which, if PAX walk through from economy, teleports them to outside the rear toilets where they deserve to be.

Which Hotel Status to go for?

Which cities and countries do you stay in the most? I do the bulk of my preference selecting on Accor because they are pretty good at recognising status, although last I looked their points value wasn’t the greatest. They also have a good spread of locations in Australia, Asia and Europe.
