Does anyone know what the ticketing time limit for JAL is? I’ve been waiting on a ticket for over 24 hours and it’s pretty much impossible to get onto Qantas.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Best funded health care system in the world. With one of the highest vaccination rates in the world. With 18 months nearly COVID free to get ready. We'll be fine. Some of our staff will have to give up their 3 hour lunches and cruisey clinics, but 99% of them are up for it.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

I’d be extremely surprised to see Morrison trump (pardon the pun) Perretot at this point. Once the airlines get the ok, the stranded Australians will be back within a few days.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Well, wasn’t expecting this when I got up this morning. Just booked SYD-HND-LHR on the first day out. 2 weeks to go! I’ll have to actually do travel stuff now and figure out what I need to do!

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

it is a sign of the insanity of Australia’s covid mindset. Would any other jurisdiction in the world have the resources to debate and backdate if someone died of or with covid? And then go on to publish it because people are historical enough to care? Yet despite this ability, our hospitals are...

    Australian state border restrictions

The fact that Sydney will hit its 80% milestone this week has caught everyone off guard. The government clearly wasn’t prepared (clearly as the NSW checkin app isn’t ready yet) so we’re running around showing green ticks, trying to FaceID and pull out our vaccination certificates that provide...

New domestic Aus Airline to launch in 2022… Bonza!

and as we’ve learnt over the last 18 months, people in buttf*** nowhere certainly don’t want others in their town

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

The responsibility is with the individuals. I admit I was eligible very early in the piece, but it did involve me coordinating two days off, driving from the inner city to westmead and spending a good 90 minutes playing the covid theatre game. There are far too many groups who seems to expect...

New domestic Aus Airline to launch in 2022… Bonza!

For a 200 seat plane? A few times a week? No. Australia’s rural and regional ports are not large enough to support high capacity jet services. That’s even ignoring airport infrastructure. The towns themselves just aren’t setup for it. America has the benefit of absolutely loads of small sized...

    Australian state border restrictions

The Singaporeans aren’t exactly being easy either…. Yes, they’re stuck in a hard place. Joyce was pretty vocal about bypassing Perth due state border restrictions. I don’t see how the NT is any better?

    Australian state border restrictions

Seems a bit like QFs song and dance about moving the London services to Darwin is a bit of an own goal. Would have been better off routing it through Denpasar

    Australian state border restrictions

Did I hear right today that the NT Gov said that best case by the end of the year was home quarantine for domestic arrivals ?

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

That’s roughly in line with the WHOs worldwide estimates (ie actual cases are 10 times greater than reported, so over a quarter of the world has already had it). The South African blood service did antibody tests on donations and their estimates sat at over 50%. I think this was pre-delta as well.
