Night-before upgrade on QF2 2/8/23, as Platinum travelling solo, from a Y+ flex fare. Feeling v spoilt as it's only my second flight as WP and the first was my QF1 trip and I got a 72-hours-before upgrade.
No luck with our J request on QF101 SYD-NAN 10/6/22 but platinum husband got the only shadow on the full 737, so we had row 4A-C to ourselves. Successful upgrade (night before email) on the return, QF102 14/6/22, also a full flight and with some drama at the back of the plane so it was good to...
Yes but those reports were not at the time many people made their applications. That is the problem. Once you've nominated collection or post you cannot change. Oz Post advised us in early April when we applied that collection at the APO would be (a) quicker and (b) potentially more convenient...
Our Post Office specifically advised pick-up would be quicker, and for many city workers I imagine it'd be easier to collect at lunchtime from the passport office than from your local post office.
I collected ours in person at the Sydney office this morning after the unfortunately inaccurate advice from Australia Post that it would be quicker (and when you've opted for collection you can't change to postal). 200-strong queue at 8am, half an hour before opening. By 11am I had our...
Ours were in that queue last week and are now printed and en route for collection, hopefully by Friday! Next step will be joining the massive queue for in person collection...
Edit: just got the email (Wed 5pm) that they're ready for collection. So next I brave the APO queue...
I hadn't had the promised email update after 3 days so rang the local number (see my prev post) and was advised by helpful Sydney DFAT person that our passports have progressed for printing, but the delay is so many people are opting to collect in person rather than risk further delay with Aust...
Thank you for this tip! We are at 7+ weeks' wait now, travelling in less than 3... simple adult renewals, not new applications, not children. Stupidly accepted the advice of the APO website that 'up to 6 weeks' was the timeframe. Started getting panicky last week and have never once been able to...
The South African centre on the 1300 659 116 number posted earlier in this thread (thank you so much!) has been excellent both recent times I've used it. I had a June 2020 flight credit to use (our first #covidcancelled flight...) which annoyingly cannot be used on the website and require a...
Spoke to Amex - they were helpful and efficient as usual on the phone (zero wait; local office) and cheerfully confirmed that the short 1 November "Response to COVID19" document I found on the website is meant to supplement the current PDS, which gives emergency medical cover up to $2.5 million...
I'm going to ring them on Monday - will report back! Otherwise looking at getting the Go Insurance covid bits to accompany existing Amex credit card cover (Fiji trip for 2 x adults in January).
Amex is showing this for its credit card insurance, which suggests it's now (post 1 Nov 2021) covering Covid related expenses:
