They're going to call me back after "escalating". Was waiting for the outcome before posting.
It was very much "computer says no" response.
They told me that I'd already received 3 extensions over Covid, and that I should have booked a flight during the extension offer from Sep 2020- Mar 2021...
I'll call and check back in here for the info of others like @exceladdict
Thanks for this.
It does seem unfair that just because my date falls in May... that I wouldn't get the extension. That extra month doesn't really give me a lot of time to wrack up the points.
I wanted to get the forum's thoughts on this: I am gold status and earned the majority of my SC previously through flights. As I've been in lockdown in Melbs since 2020, I've not taken any flights (though I've booked and had to cancel plenty).
During lockdown, I relied on my grocery shopping to...
You may need to explain that to me, if there's extended lockdown in VIC meaning that residents can no travel outside their radius...to what ends are the flights still operating? Purely for those who are exempt?
What's giving me hope is this from the NSW health site:
"If the area you’re...
If you have flights from VIC to NSW booked over the next couple of days, will these be automatically cancelled? Does anyone know? Are there exemptions for people who need to travel for work? Am I clutching at straws?
entire overseas contact centers have gone down during covid, there's months of customer enquiries backlog for some companies
the fact that some people have gotten through straight away despite that is pretty impressive
good questions.
i cancelled the domestic flights myself as this was before social distancing and lockdown, but i was already worried about the idea of flying myself and my family. at that point i was ok with receiving the travel credit.
it was put back on my coles mastercard, which i think is...
there were 3 flights i refunded as credit around March 20 and have them in the travel bank.
what are my options going forward? i'm assuming chargeback had to be done immediately.
Hi all,
I tried to verify this through the call centre itself, but the agents I spoke to weren't even aware that Velocity Status Credits could be earned shopping through Coles, which didn't do much for my confidence in their advice. So I thought my fellow FFs might have a more solid answer...
Any advice on whether it's worth following up with insurance? From what I've now read, items left on board aren't covered, but is with all the mess with the airline...is there now something that can be done?
This is how green I am- I didn't even think to claim it on travel insurance! I only ever really think about it as a health precaution. Did I need to have listed the items beforehand? Or will the email thread be proof enough? Advice appreciated.
That's what it sounds like. But the official line from the airline is:
1. Yes, we said the NZ passenger picked up a pair of headphones but we were mistaken. We are now sending her this pair of headphones from Melbourne via Abu Dhabi then to NZ.
2. Yes, we said that we found your headphones and...
