    Ask The Pilot

JB, in the "Traveller" supplement of the Age there is an article about Airlines. The article, titled "The truth behind 13 rules of flying you (probably) didn’t know about" has a para about single engine operation. It says that the A380, once airborne, can run on one engine. Is this true?

    Ask The Pilot

Is the A350 a long haul A/C? If so, if getting them in the future, would this mean a return to overseas travel with VA? I miss its Prem Eco seating in the 777. Much better than the QF Nightmare Liner, I reckon. QF A380 would've been OK had we got decent seats.

50 people injured on SYD-AKL LATAM flight LA800

On the Melbourne talkback AM radio they had one pax who claimed that the "pilot" (not the captain or FO, mind you) said that they lost instrumentation. He claimed that the aircraft pitched nose-down then the "back tail corrected this" (paraphrasing here). The hosts of the show asked how long...

Latam Airlines in the news and the dreaded "plunge" word being used. Anyone got the good goss on what happened here? And why?
