Churning - when the golden goose stops laying

I have a suggestion for you Mr H. A couple of years back, I had a couple of rejections. For the next 2 or 3 cards that followed, I went for the lower level cards eg. the ANZ qantas platinum which has only a $6k minimum credit limit and 75,000 points. After a couple of successful applications, I...

I am sure you will. I got in multiple times including with my entire family! The worse that can happen is they tell it has expired and send you away.

Qantas club membership expired but still showing as active

I think it is a system issue with Ponts Club. I had membership for 4 or 5 months from memory and used the lounge a few times during this period with my family. Just enjoy it while you can!

Good question. I should have posted a picture earlier. Still seems to be active but has clearly past the shown expiry date.

Qantas club membership expired but still showing as active

In 2021, I managed to earn 350,000 which gave me Qantas club membership via Points Plus. Unforunately my credit card churning in 2022 wasn't as successful and my membership expired a few weeks ago. The website says that I need to renew. Despite this, my membership card still (via the app)...

Earn 10K Qf points doing 10 trades ($50 in total) using Superhero Trading acct

I have done both also. Very easy. I also hold shares that I plan to hold long term. Contemplating whether I should move them over to get the 20,000 point bonus for transferring $20,000 shares in. I would be interested to know if anyone else has tried it.

Article: Aeroplan Cracks Down on Credit Card Churners

https://pointshogger.com/aeroplan-clamping-down-on-churning/ This article is from a North American points site. It suggests that the banks are behind this move given Aeroplan, like qantas makes money out of points Surely it would be easy for Aussie banks to check applicant credit history to...

Can you hold both a business and personal Amex and receive bonus on both

I have got bonus points for both business and consumer credit cards for NAB and Westpac in the past. However, in the case of AMEX, I think the answer is “it depends” Below are an extract from the T&C for Amex business cards. The first is is a standard business credit card. The second is a...

    Velocity reinstates Singapore Airlines redemptions

A quick question about booking Singapore airlines rewards on the Velocity site. Premium economy does not appear as an option. Only economy, business and first appears. Does anyone happen to know why this?

    Velocity reinstates Singapore Airlines redemptions

Thanks THR and Aikman for your thoughts. So am right in saying that if I ring up then the velocity team might be able to combine the two flights (say 9 hours apart) into a "married segment" and I would pay a lower rate / fees?

    Velocity reinstates Singapore Airlines redemptions

I have been trying to find a velocity redemption to Europe for my family on Singapore airlines for next year. If you search for flights online from Sydney to London there are nothing but economy seats. If you search for flights from Sydney to Singapore and then Singpore to London there are...

Constant credit card turnover for points

I have a similar income and was having trouble with banks because I am self employed also. Over last 6 months I have been paying myself a salary via my company and churning has become much easier. I agree - they prefer PAYG / regular income. They still ask me questions about the business but...
