Flew QF Y OOL-SYD on a 717 last week. Not only is the hard product by far and away the superior we received 6 arancini balls as the "refreshment" - tasted miles better than VA's offering in J.

I'm just about to hit gold with 41 sectors. Mostly flights earning only 10SC's with the odd flexi ticket and a trip to DPS. Hard slog indeed - no lounge access means trying to get to the airport as late as possible (and has also meant a couple of missed flights!)

Not sure on the check in issue but no, no IFE on DRW flights unless you somehow end up on a 330. I believe, like most, the route is flown exclusively by 737's. Seatback IFE was removed on all aircraft except for the couple of remaining 700's but these are disabled anyway. Why not buy one of...

I agree but how many people actually know that TT is owned by VA? It's certainly not as obvious as J* being owned by QF.

This is already being discussed in a couple of other threads however you'll be fine, the transition to Tiger won't happen until late March 2016. I'd be more concerned about the volcano at this rate!

Tiger have already started selling seats to DPS. Most notably MEL-DPS return for $220.

Totally agreed, I would've made a point of it. Seeing/hearing others getting $18 worth for free while they try to madly process your payment for a beer is a slap in the face.

Apologies if this has already been asked and answered - how long (generally) does it take for the points to be transferred over to Velocity? I see the bonus points have posted in the "View Points Summary" section but still a big fat zero under "Velocity Points Transferred".

Snacks on a 1, maybe 2 hour flight is probably acceptable but this definitely isn't. You wouldn't want to see those in J being treated to a 3 course dinner while you try to salvage your one cashew.

Looks great! You'd be kicking yourself if your 330 went tech and ended up on a 737. The difference between the two products is huge. I haven't been following this too closely... Will the 777 J refit be identical?
