3 hours should be able to justify a cancellation and full refund.

Have Hilton Aspire so have Hilton Diamond automatically each year. Have QF Gold, Qatar Platinum, Krisflyer Gold, Velocity Gold - all due to expire this year. Almost always redeem Business Reward seats so not too fussed at this stage.

Putting cc into credit may only work for some banks, in my experience Amex doesn't allow it.
