What a pain in the cough... I just joined at full-rate and was advised by the telemarketer that it was only available by invitation. Upon receiving the kit I discovered the website and learned it was there all along. Now I find out I could have got a discount! Harumph......

It's a little confusing as Priority Club includes ICH as well as Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn etc. Ambassador only applies to ICH however includes upgrade to Gold Priority Club. Certainly the 'free' weekend night voucher you get as part of your membership will only be good for ICH.

Have any of you two ever done any calculations on the question of acquiring mileage points versus paying credit card surcharges? I ask as a number of my big-ticket bills (rates, strata etc.) are now charging 1-3% for credit card payments versus EFT. The coughs. I get 1.5 points per dollar...

Could it be that your employer has negotiated a special deal with the IC Hotel group? I don't know who you work for, but imagine larger companies would do this. I wonder if this would allow me to get Priority Club points AND Qantas points thereafter. Thoughts?
