ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

I need help. It's nice that this thread is now over 300 pages long. However that doesn't make it easy to find info... Perhaps a sticky post with the summary? I currently have a CBA Diamond Visa. I've sat down and worked out that the points earn is miserable. Contemplating a change. I would...

    IHG Hotels that recognise status

Presently staying at the HI on Flinders. Received a nice card from the manager and a chocolate. Take that minibar! No room upgrade. Card might be because I've stayed here before, not because of status. Hard to say if I should be expecting to be upgraded, noting that while I am Platinum PC, I...

AMEX Corporate Gold Card Travel Insurance

With whom? I am paying around $500 (plus excess) and thought it a bargain.

Need Help in coughet - Baby Seat

Haven't forgotten Evan, just hadn't returned home - until today, and here I am :-) For the benefit of the archives, I worked out a solution as follows. Le Meridien Hotel have a car service which has access to a baby-seat for only a few dollars more than the standard transfer in a Camry sedan...

Need Help in coughet - Baby Seat

Thank you for being so liberal with a few hundred dollars of my money. You don't suppose, before forking out a few hundred dollars on a redundant car seat (which may not even be compatible in some vehicles overseas) that I might make some enquiries first, as to the possibility of hiring them...

Need Help in coughet - Baby Seat

Why would a mini-bus be safer? Lower speed perhaps? I am starting to lose confidence in my chances. I fully appreciate what you are talking about in relation to Thai road rules. However, I am rather shocked that American and international hotel chains, and their delegates don't know better. I...

Need Help in coughet - Baby Seat

We will be travelling to coughet, Thailand in a month, staying at the Holiday Inn. By then we will have a 6-month old baby. The trip from airport to hotel is approximately 40-50km and we will only travel in a vehicle with the baby in an approved child restraint. Unfortunately this appears to...

    Priority Privilege Changes

What a pain in the cough... I just joined at full-rate and was advised by the telemarketer that it was only available by invitation. Upon receiving the kit I discovered the website and learned it was there all along. Now I find out I could have got a discount! Harumph......

    Ambassador benefits only ICH?

It's a little confusing as Priority Club includes ICH as well as Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn etc. Ambassador only applies to ICH however includes upgrade to Gold Priority Club. Certainly the 'free' weekend night voucher you get as part of your membership will only be good for ICH.

    Credit Card Surcharges versus Points

Have any of you two ever done any calculations on the question of acquiring mileage points versus paying credit card surcharges? I ask as a number of my big-ticket bills (rates, strata etc.) are now charging 1-3% for credit card payments versus EFT. The coughs. I get 1.5 points per dollar...

Priority Club - Their points or QFF?

Could it be that your employer has negotiated a special deal with the IC Hotel group? I don't know who you work for, but imagine larger companies would do this. I wonder if this would allow me to get Priority Club points AND Qantas points thereafter. Thoughts?

Priority Club - Their points or QFF?

Cheers Thanks Kiwi Flyer. As I suspected, it's a bit of a personal preference and there are many variables in terms of points value for different people. Nevertheless you make some good points and I am now even more undecided :D I look forward to hearing others' thoughts.

Priority Club - Their points or QFF?

I am a member of the "Priority Club" which is the loyalty program for Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza and a few other hotels. http://www.priorityclub.com. They let you transfer their points to Qantas (and various other airlines) or keep them within the Priority Club program for room...
