Have you considered looking at Star Alliance awards through Lifemiles? United usually tends to have ok redemption availability SYD/MEL to LAX or SFO.

Ive read about this guy before. I'm not sure I really agree that stepping foot into a country for an hour counts as "visiting" but anyway...been to all apart from Sierra Leone and Kiribati, and not sure I really enjoyed his list as much as he did. But I do love Uruguay, and Romania is beautiful...

i think its just bad wording on the site. You get lounge access across the entire Skyteam network, not just while flying Alitalia.

Not a fan at all. Would look elsewhere if budget permits. Its in a great location true, but the rooms are tired and there are much better options in London.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion Ring the call centre. They will do it all in one go. The change fee is more than the cancel fee, but its worth it for peace of mind.

I suggest very very strongly not to book return flights. Just book two separate one ways. That way you can cancel the return and rebook at any time. Once you take the first flight, it can be a pain to change the second if it's on the same ticket.

You can always get TG J one stop to OSL via BKK cheap on Lifemiles ;) And the BKK - OSL leg is on the new 777 which has lie flat J seats. My wife takes that flight to see her family 4-5 times a year.

Definitely middle seats and row 2 or 3 best imo. As to PJ's they are meant to have them, but I've encountered a lack of sizes on several SYD - SIN legs in the past, so it's not 100% guaranteed you will get them.

Tbh, I find the SQ lounge staff to be a mixed bunch but have never been denied entry on a TG F flight. Although most times there is no food or limited food as the SQ afternoon flight leaves earlier than the TG one.

I have a Ferragamo wallet with a money clip in the middle. It's a perfect travel wallet with room for 6-8 cards and cash in the clip.
