    Sweden and Tanzania 23/24

We could see the mum but needed binoculars to see the cubs. We were lucky to see loads of lions during that trip though. The visitor centre is definitely worth a visit - I always recommend it!

Your cheetah photos are amazing! When I was at the visitor's centre last year we couldn't do the walk as there was a lioness with cubs in the rocks :-)

Have you actually lost your passport before while travelling?

I lost mine briefly in Tanzania. Well, I knew where it was, but... It was in document wallet which I thought I had put into my hand luggage but it had slid between me and the opening of my hand luggage, so when I got out of the taxi, it didn't. The wallet was black, so it blended in with the...

    Errors when booking Qantas Hotels

There's no cash component to the booking, it's purely points. Good idea about the VPN, maybe I need to try that. Thanks for the reply :)

    Errors when booking Qantas Hotels

Has anyone had problems trying to use points to book a hotel on the Qantas website? I get a booking reference but also receive an error that the payment can't be processed. I'm trying to use points and have more than enough for the booking. I had the same problem when I tried to do it last year...

Article: The Joy of Visiting Emerging Tourist Destinations

Just listen to local advice and be sensible in South Africa and you will be fine. Namibia is really worth a visit if you have the time.

Article: The Joy of Visiting Emerging Tourist Destinations

Madagascar is well worth a visit. My friends and I had a driver who was very knowledgeable and loved driving his 5 Aussie ladies around. It was a big change for him as it seems most tourists to Madagascar are French. So much unique wildlife, beautiful national parks, the food was good, the roads...

    Worst cabin announcement

Flying from Mfuwe to Lusaka in Zambia, my flight was delayed. After finally boarding and while taxiing towards the runway, the pilot apologised for the delay and said "the aircraft is not coping well with the heat today"

Africa: Suggestions for a safari experience on a Budget?

Nguni Lodge is new, small and really nice - Victoria Falls. B&B rates are $65pp for a standard room and $80pp for a deluxe room. Those rates are USD.

    What does a butler do?

I had a butler when I stayed at a safari camp in Zambia, even though I was the only guest in camp! I did feel a little uncomfortable at the idea of having a butler. He did enjoy a chat though, and I learned a lot about him, his family and many interesting stories about his life. He was the...

Where are you going in 2018?

That's an interesting combination! His name is Calson Luka. He's been with Singita for a year, previously with Asilia and was based in northern Serengeti for a number of years. If you do get him, please tell him Kellie recommended him. Have a great trip! I might be over that way myself in October.
