As a quick PSA - when I book the trip as two one ways - a non-waitlisted rewards ticket was available! (admittedly it's an 9 hour layover, but in Changi, that's no great hardship). I've doubled checked and it doesn't show when you try to book a return.
Thanks that makes sense.
However, I guess I still have the same question - assuming I split it into two tickets, for LHR - MEL with availability for the LHR - SIN leg, but waitlist for the SIN - MEL: if the SIN - MEL does not become available, does that affect the LHR - SIN leg. I'm not too...
I think I've looked through all 13 pages of this thread, so apologise if it's been asked before.
I want to do MEL- LHR return in March in Y on points. I was able to get a seat for the first three legs, but the last SIN - MEL only has a waitlist redemption.
If I was to take the waitlist chance...
Hey, I was trying to get into the eStore aka "Shop to earn points" and every time it just white screens (can log into the main velocity page without issue. Before I contemplate talking to Velocity support about it, I was wondering if it was just me?
Yes, you are of course correct. Don't know where I got that from!
Just the one booking, but will have to be with an agent since neither airline offers this route
Thanks for the responses, both make sense.
Just occured to me that I won't get the Status Credits on the VS LAX->LHR leg since it's not a code share flight :(. I guess i need to do the maths to see if the EY flight is worth it to get me back to Gold.
Hey, I’m travelling to UK in mid Jan and normally use SIA to get the VA points etc. but they are $7-8Kish whereas either EK or VA/VS via LA is $5Kish for 1 Adult and 2 urchins. (EY is $6.5Kish)
Is the worth the hassle of a 6 hour layover in LAX (with maybe a brief trip around LA) just to get...
Now VA are flying to HGK from MEL is it possible to book either with VS or VA a return from MEL to London returning via HKG for a 2 day stopover on a single booking? Both Virgin website only offer this via SIA and hence it has an unwelcome stopover in SIN. Going out 21/12 & back 11/1
I...
Just got back from trip to UK on SQ and both inbound and outbound flight's boarding pass showed "Partner Silver", despite being VA Gold - called the service centre who confirmed that I was gold, but had no idea why it didn't show up on SQ's system.
All 4 lounges and 2 check in desks accepted...
I'll give them a call on Monday, but does anybody know what the required points are for MEL->DPS. Given that the cash price of the Tiger flight is $200 less than the previous Virgin
price, is there a corresponding drop in points?
Also do you still have to pay Tiger's daft checked baggage surcharge?
