I have used the live chat with success recently for redemptions bookings that were changed by the airline. The flights that I needed to change to were showing waitlist (saver rates) , however the agent was able to secure me tix for the flights, at saver rates.

I haven't done it on the website , however I had the krisflyer call centre do it for me.

I have just booked 2 x J Biz class flights again with S7 for my 2 boys. St petersburg to Krasnoyarsk. taxes were $26 aud each. This was done thru the Chat on Qantas website. They waived the assistance fees as i couldn't book these online. The process was quick and painless.
