    I've said it ad nauseam - downgrades occur in order of fare class and status. A WP in U Class is going to be downgraded before a NB on full J.

    QF have zeroed out I class until November on QF43. Found 4 dates prior with I class, called and made the request. Will spare the Fiji call centre nonsense, but HBA got all of the dates released and were happy to hold them until we decided to ticket.

    Exactly this. As someone who checks in at T-(120-90) I have never waited at EK Check in at SYD.

    Upgrades (and downgrades) are processed according to status and fare class. There is also the PCV, but that's a Pandora's Box.

    EK F taxes to Europe are around $1,800 each one way. Return for two is this $7,200. They want extra revenue, even on awards, and are charging accordingly. Only you can decide if you think it’s worth it. I pay it because I would rather use it QFF points to fly a better F product.

    Apparently because of the pax. To be fair, some flights I've been on have had large groups of very drunk men board. One CSM once said to me "Don't worry, they'll pass out pretty soon..." My last flight everyone was very well behaved, though.
