Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Before it went a bit off topic with cork removing devices, I was going to post a photo of the cork when I opened another bottle. Here it is:

Surprisingly good. First one I broke it as I didn't go deep enough. Now I'm pretty much going for full length extraction to ensure it doesn't break. I've had not more leakage of 1/3 of the way up the cork. I'm intrigued with the relabel and cork condition. I actually wonder if they have been...

I've bought the Orlando twice at $30 and $35 per bottle. We've enjoyed it at this price and went back for seconds. It drinks well with sitting in the glass for 30 minutes. It doesn't drink as well the next day.

@beefarmer - try and find some PN with some age. I often find PN is either made to be drunk straight away (hence the lack of depth) or is drunk too early. I don't really drink much PN as I haven't had much luck with deals on aged PN. However, I did pick up some 2015 Austins Ruby May which was...

TWC is doing 2010 St Hugo for $40 a bottle. Maybe good option for those without a cellar. Generally I've put St Hugo near to Wynns Black label (which I rate highly for it's value and door affordable cellar releases in the past). I haven't had 2010, but would be likely near peak. You need to...

The lethbridge stuff is pretty good. I'm not much into white's but those in the family that are, rate it. Under $30 is pretty good value.

Anyone seen this before??Etervin Wine Preservation

Silicone should last a reasonable time. Expect to get 5 years out of it. However silicone ain't silicone as most have fillers and this is what degrades. Silicone bakeware lasts a surprisingly long time, so would imagine this would work. Could never think of a use case though, however for...

    10 years of lurking

Yep, just noticed I had an account for 10 years and never made a post. o_O I used to fly for work, but now can't even see flying for pleasure in the short term. So now I really just hang around for the wine discussion!

Yep agree with this. Had two out of six bottles bad, but clearly evident from leakage past cork. GWD credited the two bottles. $25 a bottle is still pretty good value for me (99/4) if the credit is of limited value. However currently have massive issues with lack of transparency with GWD and...
