I had a similar thing happen to my Velocity account. As it turns out, the phone agent I spoke to that day accidentally took points out of my account for a booking she made for the subsequent caller. Hackers are not always the reason.
I tried to change the date on a flight this week but the website wouldn't accept my credit card. I got on to Jetstar chat half expecting to be charged more but to my surprise I was charged $40 less than the website quoted me. I'm not sure how they calculated it but my ticket looks ok. I think...
Not all routes are the same. Say you needed to fly from Bundaberg to Broome. I can't imagine a time when points plus pay will ever beat classic rewards.
The rules suggest that if you are arriving on an international QF J flight and connecting the next morning then you will have access to the lounge.
For practical purposes, they will start to pack up the food well before the last domestic flight leaves at around 9pm. There should be a hot food...
The system will seat everyone in the same booking together. If on a 787, I'd say you'll get seated 3x2, most likely across the aisle from each other. Up to your family who sits where among those 5 seats.

Doesn't seem to have stopped people doing same plane 1 hour turnarounds in Noumea. It couldn't be booked online so people were saying they booked it through a travel agent. Post #5093 in this thread for example.
