Has anyone been impacted by the Coronavirus? Will travel insurance cover the costs if we wanted to cancel? Especially if the flights are with points.

@stoney I find that difficult to believe (not you, but them.) I worked for AAMI for 14 years, including claims. A 'claim' is not an 'intent to claim', but a written up, and paid out claim. If a 'claim' is lodged, and knocked back, then you have not 'made a claim against them.'. Eg in car...

Anyone with problems getting Air France / KLM refunds?

VERY informative, thankyou @MEL_Traveller You're a real help. I appreciate it.

Anyone with problems getting Air France / KLM refunds?

Yes it was Syd>Sing Sing>paris - that's interesting - yes it allows cancellations, but not sure how ACL could possibly help - I guess I'm in the wait and see basket at the moment. I just have to work out how LONG to wait before I start foot stamping.

Anyone with problems getting Air France / KLM refunds?

It was a SIngapore airlines 1st leg to Sing, then AF to CDG 2nd Leg, both booked on the AF website. Both legs allowed changes/cancellations. I feel very in the dark. Thankyou for your links, I'll scour them for info. After the initial inquisition, and the runaround with the card (It was a year...

Anyone with problems getting Air France / KLM refunds?

Have multiple bookings with these airlines. 1 x huge J booking, lots of $, which was cancelled on 21.3.20. I'm worried about it. Had a problem with that because the credit card it was initially booked on was cancelled a while ago, and wanted the refund to go to our bank accouant instead. Idiot...

Long wait for refund for cancelled reward flights Qantas - a common experience?

And mine was cancelled 7th April. Also no sign of any refund of taxes or refund of points. It was a truckload of points, so I'm sweating. Looks like I've got another 1-2 weeks to wait, if this forum is anything to go by. I want to too, Lynda, but I'm too scared to book anything to...

Is it Time to transfer/withdraw points from Velocity?

Imagine the chaos in the 'warehouse' / admin / shipping / communications departments. Absolute debacle I bet. I'm still not sure what to do. Any one NOT redeeming? why? (just heard on the news that it's likely they'll go into receivership.)

Where would you be now ... ?

Yep, yet another of the things I'd booked (4 wonders of Alsace - the 4 beautiful surrounding towns tour) and that I had to cancel. :/

Where would you be now ... ?

Agreed. I have to believe it was better this way (or I might cry.) I don't know. Love to know how I'm ever (or WHEN I'm ever,) going to be able to recreate our holiday.

Where would you be now ... ?

I had also booked to go to Alsace, ...we were leaving 02.06 - except I had booked the whole shebang. 2 months of bliss. Our first ever J flights, Syd to Paris, our accommodation, and even some skip the line tickets in Paris, then internal flight to Toulouse, and a lovely stay in Carcassonne...

Is it Time to transfer/withdraw points from Velocity?

i booked SQ J flights for 2 June, through Air France. I've tried to cancel them multiple times. The latest was possibly the worst. Neither SQ nor AF want anything to do with it. The operator I got last time, asked me 'why did I want to cancel'. If only she could have seen the look on my face...

INTERACTIVE SURVEY - Travel Plans messed up by COVID-19? Be Proactive? Or Patient?

Every day I change my mind. Now it looks like my mind has been made up for me. I can't see France, Germany and Italy, all coming up Trumps (parden the pun) within 10 weeks. Not enough to have a lovely, comfortable, worry free holiday anyway. Travel warnings, spiralling numbers, 24/7 TV coverage...

Smartraveller now raised ALL overseas travel alert

I don't get it. I mean...I don't get the reasoning. (except they're trying to protect themselves.) I'm with Insure and Go. Have a multi $10x K holiday to Europe. Am going to cancel. Can't see it improving dramatically by June 2, even though that's 10 weeks away, and can't see myself relaxing on...

INTERACTIVE SURVEY - Travel Plans messed up by COVID-19? Be Proactive? Or Patient?

Thanks Ktan89, I actually find all these posts very helpful. I wish I could 'not think about it', and that was my original plan, leave it to the last minute to decide, since about 60% of our trip is cancellable, with much of it being able to be recouped on insurance (like Venice ATM, since we...

Passenger details wrong on QR, booked with QA which shows correct.

It's looking less and less likely that we'll go anyway. I just can't see myself doing a tour of France, Germany and Italy in a 'recovered' situation in 8-10 weeks time. I can't see myself being comfortable getting 8 x flights, umteen trains from city to city, and visiting tourist hotspots like...
