Just an update of sorts.
I went back through the Platinum support team (website) who forwarded it on to the reservations team.
3 of the 4 sectors now have allocated seats. The message I got back was that one of the sectors (SIN - LHR) returned an error when the agent tried to select the seats...
LOL
I am starting to think being able to upgrade with points is something like a tale parents tell their kids so they'll behave. Just under 1,000,000 velocity points in my account is an indication of how long I've been trying.
Have tried to manage the flight:
VA website - VA reference
SQ website - SQ reference (logged in to account and not logged in to account)
The SQ website shows the following for each sector: "Flight VA 5522 Airbus A380-800 is operated by Singapore Airlines". The same aircraft type and the same...
Appreciate the suggestion!
Even after adding the SQ booking reference to my Krisflyer account (I don't have any status with SIA) I still get the same basic error that the seats cannot be selected. Cant select on the VA website with the VA booking reference, and cant select on the SQ website...
I just wanted to give people a heads up with an unexpected issue buying SIA flights as a VA codeshare.
I have purchased SYD-SIN-LHR-SIN-SYD flights (Y) for my family for a trip later in the year. As my wife and I are both Platinum FF I purchased these (4 tickets) through the VA website, rather...
I have booked a return flight in April through the Velocity website using points. (DL40 / DL41).
The Delta website for the trip itinerary shows the following:
SKY PRIORITY (Faster Checkin / Baggage / Boarding)
Contains a link to Sky Club locations for SYD and LAX
I assume this means benefits...
I'm in the same boat. I had comfortably re-qualified for WP status in November for a review date of June 14 2020. I would therefore have already been WP until June 14 2021 or thereabouts.
If it turns out the way you are describing it, I have earned significant SC's that are now meaningless...
Something I am unsure of in the UpgradeMe Option for an upcoming HKG to SYD flight (VA82)
My Virgin app tells me that the designated aircraft for this flight is an A330-200. The UpgradeMe offer page describes it more like the 737 Business Hard Product (as well as the accompanying photograph)...
So here is the scenario:
I am not pooling SC.
I take a flight on the 10th.
I change my pool recipient on the 12th.
The points are credited on the 14th.
Who gets the points? Do they go to my account or the new recipient's account?
Can anyone provide experience with wait times for SC posting on a VA codeshare flight with VS (VA booking, VS flight) ?
LAX to LHR will see my partner earn enough status credits for Velocity SG.
Wondering if the upgrade will come through in the 7 days that we will be in London to take...
