As someone who took 200+ domestic flights in Y last year (red e-deals, not flex), I can advise that occasionally you get a glass of wine/alcohol for free, a pretty consistent shadow, you get to know the crew, and get upgraded about 2-3 times a year. Domestic is a different beast.

I've got a Surface Pro 3... Have had many-an-argument with security about it being a tablet and not a laptop. I've even ripped the keyboard off and they've insisted it be re-screened. I find in MEL and SYD they accept as tablet and in other locations it is sporadic.

I would assume guest lounge rules would logically apply to security? I.e if you are with one or two others and would get them into lounge, it is reasonable for them to access security with you, so that you (the QFF member) are not inconvenienced. Same with ppl on single itinerary.

I'm finding This to be the case more and more nowadays. I've been charged for wine when travelling on a fully-flex DRW-SYD many many times. But... I find if I sit on the CSM bench in J and just talk to them, they feed me ice cream (probably to make me go away). Problem solved.
