This has nothing to do with flying MS, but rather using their FF program to credit flights from one of 26 *A members to them and taking advantage of status pooling.
I would personally call them up at least 24 hours before hand. Be mindful of the opening hours of the call centre.

To follow up my question - I’ve just ticked over to 5/5 in my last month of the requalification year.
I have until 31/3/24 to select my bonus option (50SC), which is wonderful, as the SC‘s won’t go wasted and will contribute towards requalifying.
