I think the biggest obstacle to a legal challenge is the English rule English rule (attorney's fees) - Wikipedia, which requires you to pay the other side's legal expenses if you lose.
Exceptions can be made for essential workers. Otherwise it is only natural for the Australian government to prioritize Australian citizens, who elected them and to whom they ultimately answer.

This shows clearly that despite bad press and all that, this appalling practice is still alive and kicking. Have anyone heard similar things happening to passengers on US carriers (AA, United, Delta)?
To my understanding, this applies to flights from the Europe and the Middle East, and airlines like Qatar and Emirates, who regularly book more seats than they are allowed to carry. Not flights from the US on US carriers.
I still don’t understand why send repatriation flights to the US when it is reportedly easy to get seats on daily commercial flights LAX-SYD for a similar price? Or not?

Thanks, I do plan to do that. My case is not super complicated, but apparently, there are still too many moving parts, so to speak... Probably after his next podcast about exemptions.
