    Currency conversion question

Sadly, this is becoming an all too common practice. Your defenses: When making a reservation, always get the rate quoted in the local currency of the merchant. The only exception would be when the company with whom you are doing business guarantees the quoted rate in your own currency. (Auto...

    Suggestions for North American routings

I live in California. Yosemite is spectacular any time of the year, but April is a bit early. The falls will probably be running, but will not be full. The flowers will not yet be blooming in the valley. And the road to the high country will be closed by snow. I remember trying a visit...

    L.J.Hooker -Qantas real estate offer?

Thanks Thanks to all. In the U.S. we have a large number of real estate offers. Some are clearly charging a lot for the miles, but others (particularly LendingTree) are offering good rates and good brokers, even with the miles bonus. I believe I have a general warning about this on my website.

    EnergyAustralia - Qantas bonus?

thanks Thanks, everyone. I will mention the cash discount vs. points when I post this offer on my website. We have a similar offer for energy in Texas, (Gexa Energy) where the cash discount is better than the miles.

American wants to know what you think of Dynamic Rewards

I am indeed being very careful and doing my research. Charles Alder of Dynamic Rewards called me twice (Australia to USA) to discuss the program. (Most impressive.) However: 1. The retail partners I get while using the link on the US site will not be very useful to U.S. residents, unless they...
