No more hotel quarantine (allegedly)

That's great. Sounds like I have to allow myself a month to line things up.
I know about the HK Hotel Quarantine Support Group on Facebook but I'm a rare breed that doesn't use it. I'll have to set up a phantom account to participate
Thanks for the feedback (and advertisement). Just wondering if I fly Y and hope I get a row to myself.
It seems to be a cough shoot as to whether the route is suspended/a flight is found/a hotel room can be booked. Though not in that order.
Hopefully this link works

Agree. Still, can't imagine many non-resident takers willing to do 7 days quarantine for, say, solely a few days of meetings. It's just not economical. But who knows?
Interesting the powers above gave this (big) move the green light

For those trying to dodge the flight bans, here's a link to the flights. Already, CX flights from Manchester to HK have been suspended.
https://www.chp.gov.hk/en/features/102998.html
Flight suspension has changed from 14 days to 7 days:
Starting from April 1, if a flight is found to have three or more passengers who test positive for Covid-19 upon arrival, the airline will be banned from operating that route into Hong Kong for seven days...
Lifting of flight ban is next to useless when Cathay is running 2 flights to HK a month, courtesy of other rules. See here: https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_AU/flying-with-us/cathaycare/where-we-fly-now/latest-where-we-fly-now.html
Not sure what other airlines are doing.
Now that local cases are shooting up, what are people's thoughts on whether the flight bans are removed?
It makes no sense to have the bans, especially if hotel quarantine or PBJ (not peanut butter and jelly, but Penny's Bay Jail) is still in place. Imported cases has been in the single figure...
Now the motto has change to "Combating the epidemic with staunch national support". Not even trying to hide it anymore.
But...sort of back on topic...there are plenty of people doing washouts in Thailand. Of course the problem will be if Thailand is put on the ban list while you're there.
