    Bankwest Zero Platinum MasterCard FREE!

Hi Plant, That sounds interesting. I have the Zero lite card too. Surely the yearly fee would be higher though? Also I don't understand what you're saying about the '$8000 on existing card'. Do you mean you need an $8000 balance? $8000 credit limit? Let us know how you go!

Minimum transaction amounts for credit cards

Good question. The consumer probably couldn't enforce it directly, although Mastercard provides 'merchant violations' as an option in the drop down menu when you go to their contact page: Contact Us | MasterCard® Australia

Minimum transaction amounts for credit cards

I asked them to make my transaction $10 but they refused. They said I would have to purchase another item to make it over the $10 limit. I sometimes do carry small amounts of cash, but when I don't, I don't want to be out of options without an ATM in sight. Plus it reduces the amount of small...

Minimum transaction amounts for credit cards

Thanks notzac, If you go to mastercard.com/au, then do to the 'Merchants' tab, there will be a link to the .PDF file for the merchant rules, which clearly state no limits (either minimum or maximum) are to be enforced. I'd provide a link but I don't have 10 posts on here yet. :)

Minimum transaction amounts for credit cards

Hi all, Sorry if this has been covered already! I seldom carry cash these days and it's particularly inconvenient for me when a merchant (bakery, general store, etc) imposes a minimum transaction amount. They usually have a sign up that reads "$10 minimum for cards" or whatever. This...

    Platinum concierge

Hi, Does anyone actually use the concierge service on a regular basis? What is the extent of their service and how does it compare to the Centurion concierge - i.e. does the Centurion concierge have a wider range of services, etc? The Platinum benefits are really quite basic so I am looking...

ANZ Rental Car Excess Cover - anyone used it?

Yes but you can add it for a small fee per year (something like 30 or 40 bucks) to those excluded cards. You get a little orange paper (not plastic)card. Not sure if this has changed at all lately. Obviously worth it if you rent a vehicle at least a couple times per year.

    No Credit Card

I agree with this, and I think the only way to make it dissapear is to convince Baycorp it was done in error, right? I have never heard of this. If you sign the Privacy Act of 1988 in an agreement with Wong's Chinese Takeaway to receive credit, and you default on the payment of a Mongolian...

    No Credit Card

hey d00t, Care to elaborate on how easy it is to get around the Australian credit reporting system? And how would a lawyer help - perhaps one could use a lawyer to convince Baycorp the default listing was a mistake? Not that I need this info to get a listing off, but I will always try...

ANZ Rental Car Excess Cover - anyone used it?

Beardoc, All I know is whenever I decline the excess reduction to the rental company and explain the ANZ deal, they are quite astonished and say they have never heard of anything like that. If there's anyone out there that's tried to make a claim through ANZ (as I havn't yet, touch wood)...

ANZ Rental Car Excess Cover - anyone used it?

Hey Beardoc, I rent a lot of cars during the year as well - this is the sole reason I have the ANZ card, for the Excess cover. As you would know, it can cost anywhere from $10 to $25 a day to reduce the excess on a rental to something reasonable, therefore the yearly fee would be just a...

    newbie question about redeeming points!

Hi all, Sorry for the elementary question. I want to use some FF points for a return Brisbane to Melbourne flight. I went onto the Qantas FF site, to the Award Bookings link. It says 24,000 points (plus taxes) for a business class seat. Is this all there is to it? Why have I always...
