The first cases of wine that I ever bought were from Winestar and I have always found them to provide good service (as in the case reported by RB) and offer reasonable prices, so I'm happy to give them a plug. Never tried to send anything back, however, which is (of course) the single advantage...
Forgive me if I upset protocol or stuff up the message submission process - relatively speaking, I am a fresher here. VM recently offered Massena Verto, exclusively through dealers I think. If you tried it, what was your verdict and what did you pay?
I agree - it's a great drop, especially at that price, but be aware that it's under cork. I have had a couple of disasters with the corks in 2014 and 2016 Sharktooth.
Exactly - their marketing strategy has become really off putting. I think that the Dalwhinnie Shiraz had probably sold out before the declared 9:00 AM sale started.
I bought their 2018 Cabernets from VM a couple of years ago - was very happy wth it for $20. Not sure that The Compass is worth what JD is asking, but this complex style always appeals to me. If you do buy. it would be good to hear what you think of it...
For any other fans of the Giant Steps guys, the FinewineCo Secret Carton Pinot Noir Shiraz 6 Pack that was recently offered appears to be the 2020 Giant Steps LDR.
I missed the Heirloom, but Dandelion Vineyards are also doing mystery mixed dozens again at $189 (shipped) for minimum $350 value:
