Virgin Platinum on Etihad Flight - Lounge Question

It's no big deal, it's literally just an area of the 'premium' lounge that is roped off for F. Only difference is the waiters will serve you drinks to your table, other than that food, amenities etc are as per normal.. you will also notice that within the F area there is another roped off area...

VA1 Business reward for VAWP until Oct 2016

no difference between reward availability for different status. Only difference is that Gold and Plat can book flex economy/premium and upgrade whilst others can't. Availability between East Coast AU-LAX looks very scarce at the moment and I would assume this is due to the pending 777 upgrade...

Current offer 80000 velocity points for velocity platinum amex

Re: 80,000 velocity points Hello again good people of AusFF. For those of you who may not be aware the 110k Velocity point sign-up offer has now expired. The current offer via referral link is 80k Velocity points. This compares to only 50k points available if using the Amex site directly...

Booking available reward seat I can see on EY website using Velocity FF points

Just tried booking SYD-AUH-IAD. Reward availability shows on EY Guest site however VA call centre maintains they do not have access to the 'straight-through' flight and would need to book as 2 segments i.e SYD-AUH, AUH-IAD with each leg being 92k points so one way ends up costing 184k points...

Etihad First Suite booking via Virgin

Well done, as I think 187k points from BNE-IAD via AUH is too cheap and may even be a mistake. Everytime I have enquired about SYD-East Coast USA via AUH (numerous times over last couple of years) I have been told it needs to be booked as the two individual sectors (i.e the 141k+141k). Going to...

    Best J class seats -A380 and 787

As a couple, 12 EF are the ones to go for. Row 10 is a bit close to the bar/lounge (noise). Be aware that CDGH seats on a380 face backwards... Haven't flown 787 so can't offer much advice on that.

MEL to JFK in J using Velocity points - possible?

The best use of points is to buy a flex economy fare (look for sales) from SYD-JFK through virgin website and then upgrade the SYD-LAX legs to J (45k points pp each way). Make sure LAX-JFK is on DL and as VA plat you will receive comp upgrade to 'comfort plus' pending availability. You can...

First time in J, what to expect?

New EY Lounge 2 flights per day to/from AUH (currently 1 777, 1 A346) Easy connections to pretty much anywhere else in Europe Low taxes (compare to LHR!!) Good availability for reward tickets compared to other European destinations Priority customs/security EY Chauffeur available Good connection...

First time in J, what to expect?

Will both tickets be on points or will you purchase one and redeem one? If one of your tickets is purchased then you are eligible for a free nights stay in AUH and EY chauffeur (some limitations on this) https://www.etihad.com/en-au/plan-and-book/book-stopovers/premium-stopovers/...

Virgin Amex Velocity Platinum card now 110k points

250k is the magic number as it is what you need for return J on EY from SYD/MEL to anywhere in europe. Mrs Europa and I usually purchase one ticket and redeem one using points at least once per year..
