Australian Flying to Fishing (A different AFF)

SEATTLE I booked flights to Seattle after reading an AFF post about the Boeing Factory and Future of Flight museum. Mr ES booked his flights later after reading about Salmon fishing in the Puget Sound. We visited in August 2017, so this is also out of date, we flew Fiji Airways BNE-NAN-LAX, at...

Australian Flying to Fishing (A different AFF)

BALANGGARRA (HOME VALLEY STATION) Yes, Home Valley Station is a cattle station, not a fishing lodge. We visited HV8 ten years ago, so some of this might be out of date. We will be interested to hear if anyone has an update. The station is located off the Gibb River Road in the Kimberley. We...

Australian Flying to Fishing (A different AFF)

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this. The small matter of having an SCC successfully (and surprisingly painlessly) removed from the bridge of my nose made wearing reading glasses a little uncomfortable for a few weeks. I guess it makes sense to start with Lord Howe Island. LORD HOWE...

Australian Frequent Flyers - I will appreciate your feedback

Thanks to everyone who gave their support. Eventually Amex understood that the flight was cancelled by Qantas and they have just refunded the full cash amount that was paid and $450 Amex Qantas Credit Card Travel Voucher with expire date next year. I'm restored to where I was when I made the...

Australian Flying to Fishing (A different AFF)

Some people are Frequent Flyers because they're FIFO and some because their employer sends them from city to city. Mr ES is a frequent flyer to get to the best fishing spots. He's not inclined to write his fishing trip reports, but I'm happy to do that for him, if anyone here is interested...

Australian Frequent Flyers - I will appreciate your feedback

An update: Friday 9 June 2023 I hadn't received a response from Qantas to the reply that I sent to the email that I received that was telling me, again, to contact Amex. So I call again and explain that I don't feel that a request for a flight credit with longer date and without re-booking...

Australian Frequent Flyers - I will appreciate your feedback

Thank you Seat0B. I'm not sure that this is the Blockbuster story that a journalist would be hoping to find! But I do feel that if I accept the short expiry date and re-booking fees that Amex Travel insists is my only option, then I will be allowing that to continue to happen to other people.

Australian Frequent Flyers - I will appreciate your feedback

Thanks Odysseus, JohnK and Pushka. I will resume: Sunday 21 May 2023 - Back at Second Job - I work two jobs to feed my travel bug :) I wake up early and check our booking status. QF have resumed flights to and from LDH so now I'm worried that we have seats on a flight leaving LDH. With...

Australian Frequent Flyers - I will appreciate your feedback

Hello Princess Fiona, yes, I agree the TA experience hasn't been great. I will avoid the Qantas Flight credit in future. Time to re-think my credit card selection. 1684632583 Sorry, I should explain that a bit better, avoid the Amex Qantas Credit Card Travel Voucher!

Australian Frequent Flyers - I will appreciate your feedback

Hello Daver6, yes booked and paid with an Amex, but no suggestion or support from Amex Travel to start that process, even though they have all of the information at hand. Is that too much to ask? I also have an annual multi-trip travel insurance policy, but always try to sort out flight...

Australian Frequent Flyers - I will appreciate your feedback

Hello Anna, Thank you for your reply, I was hoping for a Qantas Flight Credit to the full value of the flights that I booked with an expire date until maybe end April 2024. I would have been very happy with that. It would cover the cost of the Sydney accommodation that we had to book while we...

Australian Frequent Flyers - I will appreciate your feedback

Hello Australian Frequent Flyers - I will appreciate your feedback on this: Back Story In August 2022 Mr ES could see J Reward seats from BNE to LDH (SYD to LDH in Y of course), but no return flights. Mr ES loves fishing the waters around LDH. I had an Amex $450 Qantas Travel Voucher to use...

Your favourite photos taken of/from a plane?

I don't know where to start! Lord Howe Island has such a nice back drop.

    The No Trip Report

Mr ES’s late decision to travel to Amsterdam with me was in part assisted by his sister deciding to travel from her home in the UK to join us in Utrecht. She had found very affordable seats on an Easyjet flight and Mr ES was to travel with her back to the UK to visit his family. Mr ES was not...

    The No Trip Report

Back in Brisbane, the Amsterdam ‘Cleaning in Healthcare’ webinar was good. There were a few things that might be of interest to the general community that I will mention. But a webinar, while convenient, doesn’t replace the face to face experience. Being able to see the other attendees and...
