Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

I saw him about 2 months ago on same flight. 5+ people with him in group and late arrival to plane. Meet at other end by QF person. The Irwin's (Robert and Terri) on the same flight. They were happy to mill around in boarding area waiting to board. nice to chat with.

Beating the status addiction - one case of success!

I too ignored the DSC promotion. I'm FIFO to Central America at the moment, and I could have booked all my trips for the rest of the year and made P1. Decided better, and now I'm looking for options to spread travel across VA and Star Alliance. With no LTP, I'll do just the minimum to retain WP...

    "lost" item

Just been re-united with some electronic equipment. Was on a flight to US a few weeks ago, and I packed my bags an hour before landing. I wanted a quick departure from the plane. When I was passing thru TSA again, I couldn't locate the item. I called the Qantas support number, and the lady took...

    Krisflyer miles on VA7

I think you are right. SQ code needed for elite miles, and these are only earned on codeshare. Found the following below on SQ Website. "Status levels are determined by Elite Miles. Unlike KrisFlyer Miles, which can be redeemed for flights or upgrades, Elite Miles are exclusively used to...

    Krisflyer miles on VA7

Due to company rules, we are changing to best available. This means my next few BNE-LAX flights will likely be virgin. I will get lounge access as tickets are business class, but onward travel is economy on United/COPA, which is star-alliance. I'd like to get some star-alliance status of this...

How many WP on one flight

I was in the Perth Business Lounge on a monday morning prior to 6 am departures to Port Hedland et al (BHP/RIO/FMG Sites). The lounge was all Orange His Vis and very full. By 6am the lounge had returned to normal dress code. I could easily see 90+ people heading to an individual flight.

    Vanuatu

We stayed in a holiday house for 10 days. Beach front with pool. House was serviced each morning, so beds we made and washing was done by the house girls. They also cooked breakfast if you wanted. Found the place on trip advisor. It was about 20 mins drive out of town, and was most relaxing...

WP re-qual the long, hard, uncomfortable way.

I got renewed on 100 flights from Brisbane to Gladstone (up Monday, back Friday). Most discount Econ (10sc), but I did some last minute flight changes on a Friday which become 20 SC flights. I did this 2 years running.

Had my first experience yesterday and the armrest was already loose.

Qantas Club Dress Standards...Stubbies, singlet and thongs....What the???

This is not always easy. Clients expect and demand maximum productivity. I have frequently left sites, and arrived as flights are about to board. Generally if there is layover in Perth, I'll try to shower and change, but connections don't always allow.

New (less-than-desirable) seats and A332 config?

"the 767 seat, the Q-streaming" I was on the fight from BNE to PER on Monday. Q-Steaming wasn't working. CSM told me these are old Jetstar planes, and the weren't quite up to Q standards yet. 2D is a good seat, but you do stick out a bit into the aisle.

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Agreed, It felt like a standard boiler plate response. Mine had also included some in indication of my future: "We will send you a Gold Lifetime card if and when your Platinum status changes" They must be reading the forum, and noting the desires to find a different program.

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

my letter arrived today. Nice welcome, with a caveat. "Gold Lifetime recognition means you'll enjoy the privileges of Gold membership for like, no matter how often you fly*. * The program award and benefits may change from time to time.
