I used mine last week in LAX and they allowed my companion through without a card… which surprised me.
Will get to test it out in CHN, HKG and TWN in June later this year.
Woke up to the holy grail text message today.
1 x Flex Y > J successful on QF11 30/11/23 confirmed at T-60 as WP.
This is the earliest I’ve ever had a confirmation which was a bit of a shock. Previous upgrades came through around the T-42 mark.
Loadings on EF haven’t budged either, still...
Anecdotally I think you could safely leave it there for a few days to a week.
Last year I put a request in, and the droid didn’t give an answer straight away (or the phone operator didn’t put the request in properly), and I was told to wait for the email 48 hours down the track. The booking...
I’m fairly sure you could. Each request is assigned a PNR so you can leave that ‘confirmed’ booking there until you call up again to process the taxes and have the points deducted from your account.
A little case study…
I’ve got a paid Y booking LAX > SYD coming up and Mr Harry is happening to...
2 x F Seats released on QF11 on 18 and 19 March next year. (So theoretically that's 4!). EF was showing A8.
Ended up taking the 19th flight, and tacking on the domestic connecting flight in J.
I checked yesterday and CHN was nowhere to be seen. Logged in this morning and it has now appeared.

Virtual card approved on 28/12/22.
Seems pretty quick compared to the previous posters.
Economies on the card so far:
AUS
BRN
IND
THA
None of these were...
Mr Harry and I just booked a segment JFK>LHR (AA F Class) and then CDG>LHR (BA whY Class) with a 4 hr layover in LHR and then LHR>BOS (BA F Class) for the return.
All ticketed on the same PNR, but the benefit of going back via Paris was a saving of about A$1000 in taxes because the return didn't...
@Stargazer I think the general consensus is that you need to be flexible when playing the points game. The saying “why fly direct, when you can connect” definitely rings true for me, and I dare say many others here.
Before Covid cancelled us, we had an Emirates itinerary BNE>SYD>DXB>LIS. We...
