I think you are limited to certain selections of seats ... such as Window/Aisle or Forward or Rear cabin etc

The booking was made in January 07.... I made a minor change to it early April (added extra leg) and the tickets were issued in March. I have no status only PB...

Do I need to be concerned that there are no seat details for QF, BA or CX flights... If not already pre-allocated I assume it will be allocated at the gate

Under seats it only says no smoking.... I assume the seats haven't been allocated yet. Obviously once allocated I should be able to see them (reply edited for typo)

Am a newbie to this forum.... but have been reading over the last few days and have a couple of questions. I have just taken out a new QF club membership (I was a member 5+ years ago however let it lapse) because I plan on doing a number or trips this year including a RTW trip in May/June 07...

I recently used the in-town check in on a CX flight from HKG-KUL and was suprised to find that as we checked in we were both upgrade to J class. Like you I thought that they would not have the authority to upgrade however was presently suprised. Happy Days....
