How come there are no QF8419 appreciation threads? #QF8418 #EK419 #EK418

Bump - a few nights ago I met an EK cabin crew member who also knew and loved this flight (it helped she was from Bangkok).

Qantas doesn't care about priority boarding

I experienced priority boarding Qantas style twice in recent weeks (QF761 and QF521) and both times, it happened the way it should have. I am not normally a QF flyer so I did not realise they had not been doing PB until recently but in my two cases, it went well.

Question about domestic to intl transfer at ADL

Thanks for all the replies... I didn't realise there were more replies after a certain point so I missed them. I left SYD around 2pm and was on the overnight CX flight to HKG departing around 10pm. Anyway, it turns out the initial QF flight was delayed a little bit, and I was a bit tired, so I...

That is good news, thanks very much for the prompt reply.

Question about domestic to intl transfer at ADL

Hi Apologies if this has been addressed somewhere but I have searched the interwebs high and low over many months to no satisfactory avail. I am flying on a CX ticket (QF metal SYD-ADL and then on CX from ADL-HKG). For those whose brains are frying right about now, going through Adelaide was...

    That makes sense.

Free Credit Card Travel Insurance - coverage for missed connections due to late incoming?

Good to know, although it reads like coverage is limited to the amount you paid, and not more. Section B2 "EMERGENCY TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS AND ACCOMMODATION EXPENSES" on Page 43 looks interesting and potentially useful too.

Free Credit Card Travel Insurance - coverage for missed connections due to late incoming?

When you make the mistake of flying MH you defintely won't be making your (separately ticketed) flight connections. I thought 5 hours would be plenty but no.

    Hello there

Hi all Have posted a few times already, so I thought I should introduce myself here...

Loyalty programs - worse than cigarettes or crack cocaine.

I enjoyed your post. You should have called it "The Things We Think and Do Not Say" =) I agree with you on a lot of points, but also think "buyer beware" - it's everyone's responsibility to play this game with awareness of what they are getting themselves into. I only play because of FOMO, and...

FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

I thought about this too. Are you really saving money, considering Japan is so well served by public transport you can get to where you are going for ~¥1000 by bus, ~¥1250 by regular train, or ~¥4000 by N'ex or Limousine bus? The way I see it, I live around $100 away from the airport in...

How come there are no QF8419 appreciation threads? #QF8418 #EK419 #EK418

Just wanted to pay homage to one of my favourite routes, QF8419 and QF8418 (#EK419 #EK418). I avoid Qantas, so I use my QF points to fly EK, mostly on QF8418 and QF8419 (which is why I am filing this under "Airlines and their Loyalty Programs, Qantas"). I know from other sources this was a...

Amex Platinum Charge Card Travel Insurance

It's a shame I didn't notice this thread sooner. Here is my 2 cents: https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/threads/free-credit-card-travel-insurance-coverage-for-missed-connections-due-to-late-incoming.96206/#post-2000877 In short, I use Citi Prestige as it gives cover for...

5000 Bonus Points for Additional Cardholder

I just received my new AMEX Platinum today and spoke with customer service who mentioned I can get 5000 points if I assign 2 more of the 4 additional card holders (I already allocated 2 straight out of the box). No talk of any spend.

Free Credit Card Travel Insurance - coverage for missed connections due to late incoming?

Thanks for everyone's response. It seems to verify my hunch that the Citi Prestige cover is quite good and should continue to be my go-to (other than leaving plenty of time for connections if on separate tickets). Amex/Chubb really does seem to be poor. Here is a bit of gold for those following...
