Qantas extends status extensions until end June 2023 (previously December 2022)

You’re probably right. While it would be nice to hold on to. You can only really use it if you’re flying, which I’m not doing much of. I’ve only taken a handful of flights since getting P1. Wasn’t great timing with COVID.

Qantas extends status extensions until end June 2023 (previously December 2022)

P1 here with July 31 expired status and only earned 200 SC last year. Which are now showing as expired. Very weird to work out what’s happening. Qantas App says I’m still P1 yet has a July 2023 expiry. Then the app also says I need 3,600 SC before July 2024 to retain P1. Made a dummy...

Platinum sitting in economy - Do the airlines pay extra attention to us?

WP for a few years. Zero special attention on Qantas domestic until I hit P1. Where it was a simple congratulations on achieving P1 from one of the cabin crew. Qantas International eccon: A little extra attention in terms of a personal greeting and farewell on every flight. They have...

    Premature status renewals

    Online said 2021. But I'm P1 now with a 2020 expiry.

    Premature status renewals

I have a WP card with expiry for July-2021 which they sent in July-2019. They'd sent me a July-2020 card 5 days prior so it was quite a surprise. I was on 3,000 or so SCs at the time, maybe that had something to do with it?

QF Gold - express path card - SYD

In my 40 or so international arrivals into SYD over the past 5 years I've never once used an incoming express path card. Even when it's busy through customs, which is rare, they never have the express path going. Outbound SYD makes a slight difference sometimes, but often the "fast" lane looks...

    New lounge trial in DPS

Pre-immigration is a PITA, I've had to go back into lounges a few times in Indonesia due to delays etc. Makes it impossible to chat to gate staff about what's going on. Slightly related, but the lounge in the new CGK terminal is also vastly improved on the old terminal.

double status credits booking but QF has cancelled one flight and rebooked as Air NZ - do I still get the double status credits?

I had the exact same situation - Booked DSC - Upgraded with points to J - flight re-scheduled but they kept me in J - showed as a reward flight in my points activity. Emailing them was a waste of time. Sorted in 5min on the phone and DSC came through a few days later.

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

It is rather complicated. Would be a simple decision if the soft WP landing is confirmed. If there is no soft landing I'll be starting that last year of flying at silver with a QP membership... Scenario with no soft landing..... SC Year starting Attain p1 (end year SCs) current year P1...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Here's how I calculate it. I'm currently 3090 SCs (have already achieved >2,700 on QF). My Calendar year starts on 1-Aug. If I want, I can move DSC bookings of 610 into August, I need to take these flights anyway. And re-book the original flights in June/July with QF (or even Virgin). This...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

This pretty much sums up the situation. Indeed, my anniversary date is the 31st of July. I can move a couple of bookings of approx 600SCs into August (for trips I need to take anyway) which would still qualify for DSC (Ts n Cs say 31Aug end date), and make a new booking for the June/July flights...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Yes, there wouldn’t be much point to P1 next year, it’s the soft landing benefit which would be helpful. That is, the WP year after the P1low activity. This is when I would be flying a lot again and the WP be handy to have. As opposed to dropping back to silver that year and doing a lot of...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Thanks everyone. I was trying to decide if I should chase P1 as I approach the end of my SC year. I don’t have much flying the following year, but I can move some big double SC bookings into the next SC year and rebook the current flights in this calendar year. Or even fly VA and retain Gold...
