    Qf11 Changes

Yep for Melbourne should be more the enough. The advantage of all the terminals being connected make connections pretty easy and you don’t even need to go outside or catch a bus. The J lounge is a bit of a dungeon, but if you have an Amex Platinum then you have a few different lounge options...

Middle East Airspace Closures [QF9 to LHR cancelled]

Looking at recent trips on FR24, the standard route appears to fly in between Iran and Israel, right over Iraq. The updated route goes well around Iran. Good to see them proactively responding to these risk to protect their planes!!

Qantas Staff Incompetence - Ticketed 2 adults and not infant, leading to denied boarding

The only real option is to submit a complain to customer care via the website - https://www.qantas.com/au/en/support/contact-us/customer-care-feedback-form.html. Explain the situation, keep it factual, provide the evidence you had a ticket (i.e., the booking confirmation, as long as you have a...

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

Oh damn they implemented this by showing the classing rewards under existing reward fare type and presumably won’t provide a way to filter searches to only show classic rewards. I’m thinking it’s going to become really painful to find classic rewards via the 7 day rolling date selector as it...

Increases to legroom charges, changes to Row 4 selection on most domestic flights

I suspect this decision would have been made long ago when they were decided to have more extra legroom seats in the a220 cabins, but implementation held off till after the a220 launched. I also suspect the impending classic+ changes contributed to this as Qantas will be looking at ways to...

Thought they were good, but IHG one is in fact, The Pits

It may night just be a property that’s not fully integrated into the IHG system. Accor has a bunch of properties like this which causes similar issues. Which hotel was it?

2 new ALL Accor hotels, opening Mel Airport precinct, near T4

Yep. It’s probably two year late but finally opening! It’s a dual brand Ibis/Novotel property with shared facilities. I believe one side of the L is the ibis and the other is Novotel. Hopefully will put push prices down around the airport with more competition. It’s a little bit more of a walk...

    Peppers Daylesford no more

Ah that's a pitty... Shrinking number of nice Accor places to stay at in Regional Vic / mountains. Hopefully they have a plan for another property in the works, perhaps not a Mantra/Peppers once so you earn proper points !!

Downgraded without notification - what are my options?

If they know of the need to fly pilots day/weeks in advance, then, yes, it would be bad planning. In the event of a last minute operational requirement, e.g., pilots call in sick so they need to get a crew positioned at short notice, Im not sure how the can plan for all events. I have...

Downgraded without notification - what are my options?

Yep, I totally underhand that last minute requirements will see pilots bumping J passengers due to EBA when they are flying for operational purposes. Personally, I don’t mind them flying J given they will need to safely operates a flight right after or later in the day. Agree that’s it...

New look QFF My Account page

Agree… the flight search bar takes up a bunch of room and makes it hard the see the info that is the whole reason for going to the my account page! Some of the info is displayed better… but it’s further down the page.

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

Agree. In fact, I’d hazard a guess that they’ve been holding off releasing seats for months now pending a massive dump around launching the new Classic+ seats.

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure Fleet - Spend $110M

Ah that makes sense. Finally found the press release which confirms their intention to add business to the economy only 737-700 aircraft. https://newsroom.virginaustralia.com/release/virgin-australia-unveils-cabin-future-and-110-million-fleet-wide-aircraft-upgrade

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure Fleet - Spend $110M

No power, no wifi… etc. I’d be surprised to see them be refreshed anytime soon since they I believe these seats were installed when they were received from KLM. I also would have expected Business seats to be installed at the same time… so wondering if they may stay as all economy.

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure Fleet - Spend $110M

Hmm... good question. This was one of the new "all economy" 737-700's acquired from KLM. The seats were new and look similar to the new seats they are getting, albeit a lighter grey. Perhaps they are different, but i can't see Virgin replacing/updating them, given they look new.
