Thanks for your thoughts. I was more thinking of moving the cash in to get the points, then drawing it back out again and putting back on the mortgage....

Looking to book a J flight in September. Have looked at a range of dates and legs (PER-MAN, MAN-PER, LHR-PER, PER LHR). I'm only in need of a seat one way with SQ to use some points due to expire - other leg will be with MH. Not too fussed whether it's SQ ex-AU or MH, though the best outcome...
Just a quick additional question related to this - have been looking over the OW site to find an answer but no luck so far.
Want to know how the baggage works in the aforementioned scenario. e.g. on the international J sector my baggage allowance is higher than on the domestic Y sector. Do I...
Have an MH flight in J landing in LHR.
Then, an onward BA flight, UK Domestic.
These are on separate PNRs.
Anybody know if I would have lounge access at LHR due to arriving in J, even though BA ticket doesn't provide it?
I took out an ANZ black at the start of the year, and am positive the offer was 50k QFF points and fee free first year.
Followed up with them the other month as bonus points hadn't posted and was told it would be on the statement date after first 3 months. That was yesterday.
Still no bonus...
Have a PER-SYD (rtn) trip coming up later this month.
Keen understand how to identify whether my J seat will be the new J, the old J or the wanna-be J (the cough ones with the tray over the middle seat).
Any ideas appreciated.
Couple of family members have a small number of points (10,000 each) which they are unlikely to use before they expire. They're happy to transfer to me if I cover the cost which, at today's prices is around $160AUD each.
Interested in others' views on whether this is really worth it, or best...
Quick update based on my dealings with MH today:
- Called them up (don't think it's possible to change on line)
- Very easy and pleasant transaction whereby I pushed the date out by around 3 months
- Same sectors
- USD $20 charge for the change
That's it - all good!
