The Zonte twin pack at $60 isn't a bad inclusion if you need to get a $140-$160 purchase over the line or don't want a stack of paper bags. I have never had a bad Zonte wine either.
Best before date is often 6-12 months. With hoppy beers i would suggest this is far too long, Sierra Nevada do some good beers but my experience with DM is that often they are lacking flavour if you don't pay attention to the dates.
As for the $22 Filsell i think that's a good deal baiden...
I picked up the 2008 from Vinomofo many years ago and it was one of my favourite purchases, $27 a bottle in 2012 i paid. Have also had the 2015 from Cellar One as they were selling it for $30 a while back and I was equally impressed, however only drank one at the time to try so haven't been back...
I bought the 2006 Glen Eldon way back when and didnt particularly like it, think i still have a bottle or two sitting in the cupboard. Thought they were a little over oaked for my liking.
I have purchased both the Shadrach and the Coppermine Road from DM and for me the Shadrach was superb, very happy with that purchase and as others have said i would also happily buy more at the discounted price. Shame your bottle seemed to be tainted in some way, I am looking to end Dry July...
You might be disappointed if you want the Coppermine to be a "quaffer". It is very heavy on the tannins at the moment and might need a fair chunk of time to soften.
Agree there ins't a lot that stands out at CM but anyone after a decent chardonnay could do far worse than the Zontes Dusk till Down for barely $10-11 after discounts
Zontes Dusk Til Dawn Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2016
i got a case of the original (2011?) in a lucky dip promotion from the Fo way back and quaffed my way through 6-8 pretty quickly but then left a couple alone, more incidental than anything, and they have been very nice so i think the quality is there, at least it was in the original batch.
Cellar one sale is interesting. When they mentioned sales a few weeks back i wrote down some prices for stuff i was interested in. The Filsell was selling for $154.91, in the sale its $150....
I got some of the 2008 via VM ages ago and loved it. Would recommend it and would love to get some hands on it myself. How does one get an invite to Cellar One?
Storm in a tea cup? Checking my order history you have to go back to May 2016 for the last time i paid postage on any order i have made. VM have so many "free shipping" promotions you don't pay for shipping anymore if you are patient. My VM buying habits have certainly reduced in the last 12-24...
FYI Dan's has a members deal on De Bortoli Estate Grown Pinot - 2 for $32, so $16 each. I picked up 2 bottles on the weekend on a complete whim and thoroughly enjoyed them so have gone back for more. Tough to find a nice pinot at $16 a pop but would recommend to anyone interested...
