You can't keep a good thing down

Just watched the video. Last thing I want to see on the concourse! Then again I'm Qantas all the way, mostly unless it's EK. Anecdotally once asked for brandy on an EK flight. Should have known better. Sorry sir, no brandy, will cognac do? I'll say!!

    Frequent flying as a consultant

Youv'e essentially got to like travelling and be prepared to travel out of work hours without extra pay, and perhaps do some work while travelling; what else is there to do on a plane. When I travel with my wife on holiday she would not take kindly to me working, which I have done, once working...

    Frequent flying as a consultant

Some people regard travel for work as a perk, however it is done. If you can get a good deal then go for it, but best not to push too hard, and hope to keep your air miles (point, dollars).

If you are an independent contractor you should be able to make your own rules. J at least, car hire, 4*+ hotel, AYCE & D (work that one out) etc as long as you bring in the money. One client asked me to go to the Philippines at short notice in December which was is a difficult to arrange...

    Frequent flying as a consultant

I agree. Early evening or late afternoon flights, but I get to chose the airline anyway, usually QF, or at least when prices are similar. One conditions is not to arrive in a city later than say 10pm because I start at 6 am the next day. 1604891990 Check out boarding queues. I'm sure there is a...

    Frequent flying as a consultant

I've done enough business travel to achieve LTG, but mostly QP in the last few years. This year my drive (flight) to retain QP has been stalled as no intentional travel. I remember 4 am starts from NZ to be at a meeting in Sydney for 9 am, then return the same evening to get home at 1:00 am...

What was your best or worst birthday while travelling?

Birthday is near Christmas so last flights of the season is usually mid Dec before the Christmas rush. On two occasions been given a bottle of champagne and plastic bag of Lindor chocs respectively.

    Digital Passenger Declaration

Personally I would welcome the digital card but hopefully they don't make all entries mandatory. I don't usually enter phone and email details in the handwritten card. If pressed I give an International landline or an non-accessible international mobile number. If it is about tracing someone...

    Digital Passenger Declaration

o what if you don't have a mobile phone, or at least not have a smart phone-they are still out there-, and don't have a computer of any description? Will there be kiosks at airports to help you fill in a form? Perhaps paper will still exist for a while.

    Less Corporate Travel Long Term?

Travel from NZ to NSW and NT now possible so returning Ozzies are happy, but no return without quarantine so it will be some time before I can travel. Flights only from Auckland and Christchurch so makes it more costly if you live in Wellington. Still not sure if entry to NSW opens up the...

    Less Corporate Travel Long Term?

I agree with the training. I've been involved with webinars and they are a very sterile environments, though I have used an occasional Youtube video to learn how to service the carburetor on my chainsaw. On international travel, my son's partner works for US software company in NZ. Even...

    Less Corporate Travel Long Term?

The article on AFF identifies only two types of travel, 1, those who do it for the joy of travelling and 2, those who treat it as a burden but must travel because of their expertise. I am in another category. I travel because of my expertise and enjoy it. There must be other shades of...
