Hi all. We are trying to book PE Y flights to/from Europe in Feb 2023. Only options are “mixed class” with the BNE-SIN and return legs in Y. This for all dates searched, and same from SYD. And same for a straight BNE-SIN return booking - only Economy available. I presume these seats have...
Hi - hopefully a quick question.
My step mum has booked (well I did!) flights using some soon to expire Skywards points for BNE-CBR and return (2 separate bookings from 2 different accounts). We have (of course) received the e-ticket with the Emirates PNR, but I am trying to link some Qantas...
Yes - I think I have another one in me having served relevant exclusion periods. There is a risk of a hit to your credit score with multiple applications, but I have not seen mine decline excessively (if at all) with 3 applications so far this year.
My first NAB statement indicated my QFF number was not linked to the card (despite putting it in at the application stage - 95% confident I did anyway). I called up and had it added, and the 2nd statement period saw all points (1st and 2nd months), and the 90k bonus, into my QFF account. Card...
A question regarding annual fee refunds when cancelling the card. How are these processed? Do NAB send a cheque, or do I need a savings account with them for a deposit? Thanks.
On the other side of the radio, we (ATC) also have pretty good coverage of the workforce through our union (Civil Air). Our union may be "small" - covering around 1000 civilian ATCs in Australia (+ RAAF), but the union has proven very effective over the years on both industrial and professional...
Wikipedia is your friend - check any references to Mode A for context around SSR Codes.

The Mode A (SSR) replies for identity comprise 12 bits (actually 4 x 3 bits) hence the 4 octal digits.
There is also a new emergency code 7400 for RPAS Loss of Link.
The squawk (SSR) code is generated by the ATC system from a number of pre-configured groups of codes. One code per flight leg. For example there are "international" code groups and "domestic" code groups assigned to each country...
Given these differences, as a pilot what cues did you have, or need, to remember which version you were flying on any particular day? Seems the variations would require quite different handling - I assume it was a common type endorsement.
We did a short hop FRA - GVA with LH (Euro J) about 3 years ago. Pleasant enough, reasonably quiet.
Favourite aircraft type: A380.
Least favourite (relatively recently) Emirates B777 in Y.
Surprise honourable mention - Garuda A330 in J
The Club Lounge is currently closed for refurbishment (through till the end of the year if I am not mistaken).

I too have points expiring in June 2022 (enough for 2 x J returns to Europe). My concern is that will all these deferred points now expiring "around then" - what will be the likelihood of actually being able to redeem them on reasonably suitable flights (understanding the bookings can be...
