    Inter-lining baggage

I guessed so. One thing that the transfer desk girl mentioned to her supervisor is that there is a "no show" so if she could check me in and the supervisor said "yes just do it". It was about 7 am latest and the flight was at 9.45. They probably realised that they could not contact a passenger...

    Inter-lining baggage

Hi I recently travelled from Chennai (India) to Sydney. I was booked in for Friday night 23.30 flight from Chennai to Singapore and then Sunday night 20.30 flight from Singapore to Sydney. I originally wanted to spend the night in Singapore (more on that later) without having to check out my...

The New Altitude Platinum Card from Westpac

I think the main drawback is the 2:1 QF conversion rate for the Mastercard. Personally I have a CPA Amex Platinum for $295.00 which gives the free return flight as well. I will stick to that.

The ultimate Card - Citibank Platinum??

Platinum calls go to Manila in Philippines. You will get the same consistent experience that is unique to Citibank globally irrespective of how much money you are coughing out ;)

CC best suited for foreign currency transactions?

I agree with NM on the ATM charges. Some ATMS in pubs, night clubs and hotels even charge up to US$5.00 for withdrawals (in addition to any bank & conversion charges). Good thing is they display that before you withdraw. The bad thing is by the time you are there, you would probably need the...

    JOURNALIST LOOKING FOR FF EXAMPLES

Simon, Most of us have seen and reaped great benefits of frequent flyer and credit card reward programs - else, we would have given up on collecting the points. At the same time, we have also seen the decline in the benefits offered by these reward programs - airline programs making it hard...

Platinum Credit Card Overseas Insurance - links to policy?

As I said, I never made a claim. But credit card insurance is generally provided by the same companies that provide other travel insurance - like Zurich, AIG, etc. Once I wanted to fly overseas just two weeks after cleared of Pneumonia. So I spoke to the insurance company about my credit card...

    New CPA Platinum Credit Card.

The CPA offer came through CPA. Unlike the rental car scheme (where you can quote a "borrowed" CPD#), I do not think there is a way to get this card if you do not belong to these societies.

Platinum Credit Card Overseas Insurance - links to policy?

Just to comment on the Rickshaw Story - I think the travel agent tried to scare you into buying the insurance that he sells. While I have not made any claims (thank god), I have read the credit card insurance T&Cs. Usually these (insurance T&Cs) are separate booklets from the credit card...

Has anyone used the CB Ready Credit offer recently-confused

Hi ReadyCredit as a minimum amount to be paid every month. I borrowed $15K and every month minimum to be paid is around $400.00. So there is no danger of interest compounding at higher rates. My interest remained at around $40-50 always reducing every month. But as you may have read in...

    New CPA Platinum Credit Card.

I got my CPA AMEX Platinum with 4 days of applying. It is indeed a beauty. The Citibank and CBA Platinum cards looked more like "Silver". But this one is quite flashy. At least the check out girl at the local pharmac_ marvelled at it!!!!

Citibank readyCredit - Give yourself a present this xmas

I was one of the people who got the $160.00 fee. Citibank's intention was to selectively rip off people like me (after offering a fee-free account in the beginning) who took advantage of the low interest. It has severly backfired on them. I am sure the person who suggested and implemented this...

    trolley case recommendations?

My vote is for Samsonite. I bought one in 1999, and used at least 6 times a year for both domestic and international. Everything is in perfect order, wheels, zippers, etc. This year, I wanted to buy another one (as my wife had already taken the Samsonite). Went to Myers and was tempted by the...
