You can't really have a whinge when you are wanting a reward seat 1 month out and during school holiday peak. you need to have some flexibility. I've found Velocity has overall better premium cabin award availability than QF.

You can only request the bassinet seats (1GJ) if you call them up per their website. Otherwise those seats are only available at airport checkin.

I found the seat to be narrow and not really any improvement on economy. Most of the extra width is in the fixed arm rest and the leg room is less than QF. The lower back of the seat where it meats the seat cushion is also not very comfortable after a while. I did 1 sector in W and one in Y...

The Finnair Premium Economy prodcut is awful and uncomfortable. I'd rather be in one of their economy seats which seemed more comfortable than QF Y when I flew them.

Why? They carry around 30million pax a year and reasonable prices and for the most part things go smoothly. If you want to get a service you haven't paid for then fly someone else. I'm sure if they were lfying Virgin and wanted to check a bag on afare without a bag there would be issues...

Random question... Who pays for the points when flying with airline partners? Ie If I am flying on QF metal SYD-LAX and credit to AA ... Does QF pay AA for the miles or does AA just credit them to their program for flying QF?

MNL could be in the mix as an A321 route but they aren;t going to the expense of fitting flie flat bunks in to use them on short routes to Asia. The bunks are being put in to fly longer routes requiring flat rest for pilots.
