    UK Departure Tax to increase

It will be very useful when QF sunrise takes hold and you fly non stop from CDG or Europe. Quite happy with a couple of nights in Paris on the way home. Especially if you fly from non LON based airports. you can get a cheap flight for 50 pence !!!

International transit times LHR to Sydney via Melbourne.

Hi Junes Have done this route myself last year. MEL is easy, walk out from customs and up to domestic or transit departures. Both are as quick, but you will miss nice lounge time in Mel Q pub, I needed a good coffee after the Uk experience. If you miss the connection as others have said there...

    Best Economy class

Dear all Thank you for your comments, it was an interesting read. I ended up with QF1 on the way there and EK414 (QF#) on the way back. Reasonable seat on both flights as a WP as JohnK suggested. Moved to a unused row for parts of the flights and a couple of beers helped. I liked the short...

    Best Economy class

Prefer not but if it makes a significant difference yes. I know on EK that the rows 68 81 on the A380 are worth it, rest not sure

    Best Economy class

A question that is likely to generate some debate and hopefully some recommendations. I need to travel to the UK - LHR, LGW, MAN, STN in the next 2 weeks for family reasons - the F, J and Y+ pricing is a little step at this time so I am looking at Economy. I have burnt the majority of my...

Australians (and certain other nationals) allowed to use UK biometric gates from mid 2019

Very excellent news - even though I get to use the EU lanes (attached to SWMBO) most of the time, the e-lanes are much faster and less waiting. Lets hope its there by late May - please

    TT758 PER to SYD

Not really a trip report (just the end) but a couple of screen shots from flight radar 24 this morning. After a loud roar of engines I saw this Tiger flight banking to the right, away from its flight path. Not the normal thing to do less than 2 minutes out on approach to SYD airport. Not...
