Article: How to Improve Airport Security Queues

Does anyone else suck in their gut when they get full body scanned?? Went through CBR, SYD x2, DOH, LHR x4, BSL, AMS, SIN x2; 4 weeks travel in May/June, and every single time I was secondarily patted down after scan. Some were cursory, some very thorough. No belt, jewellry, implants etc but do...

Qantas Call Centre Long Wait Times

3 hours 11 mins on hold. Victoria (in AU) helped sort it out in about 6 mins. Good luck to all those still holding. No more "music" for me. (I just used 131313 and put in my WP#.)

Qantas Call Centre Long Wait Times

Not just music. I'm pretty sure I could ace booking wheelchair assistance online if I needed it. The nice lady on holding has told me how to do it about 30 times now.

Qantas Call Centre Long Wait Times

Platinum. Did give my FF # on keypad when asked. Need to make a change to an international flight booking. Not able to do online or via manage my booking. Was on hold for >1 hour this morning before I had to hang up and go and work. Now on hold again with an estimated wait time of >2 hours. No...

Qantas Revenue booking cancellations (under covid19)

Hmm. Yet you still have to pay change fees. When you’re ready to rebook, you’ll need to cover any change fee and any fare increase in your new booking. Will this be for every booking you choose to use your “credit” for? Could get expensive quickly. Looks like a iron fist in a velvet glove....

The one minor item you miss if you forget to bring

I put them in after straightening ear canal (pull up and back on top of your ear) To remove, again pull back and up on ear, grasp plug end between thumb and forefinger and wiggle wiggle gently until it pulls out. They say use one plug per ear but I find one plug makes at least three plugs for my...

The one minor item you miss if you forget to bring

My favorite eye mask and ear plugs. (for me it’s the Lewis N Clark Comfort mask and Mighty Plugs, which are wax based) Took years of trials of different products, but they solve all plane/hotel light/noise problems instantly. Meaning no anxiety when you see your bulkhead seat is next to the 6...

Platinum sitting in economy - Do the airlines pay extra attention to us?

Recently on QF118, HKG-SYD overnight, WP, no shadow, I was greeted then offered an eye mask, produced out of the CM’s pocket. Kind gesture probably, but I was thinking 2 things ; could it have been left behind in J by someone on the last flight perhaps? And also, which frequent flyer on an...

    Come From Away Musical Melbourne

Saw it in London June this year. Fantastic musical. Different, with a clever cast. I found it engages you slowly until you’re totally on board. Great aviation theme for frequent flyers...It’s more story driven than some musicals with their flashing lights, smoke machines and glitz. Recommended ++

    Experiencing Virgin Australia Afresh

Ask the architects out there? Leaving a ~12 cm gap at the top might not be a luxe lounge look.

    Experiencing Virgin Australia Afresh

There may be an explanation for the doors: Australian Building regs require that a toilet door can be removed from the outside. This is because if someone collapses or faints in the stall, and falls against the door, you cannot get in to assist them, particularly if they are generously built...

This doesn't surprise me - Qantas kick off The Veronicas

Reading this thread I’m thinking “Discretion is the better part of valor” so googled what it actually means which is: it's better to avoid a dangerous situation than to confront it. I know someone was in the right, or having a bad day or whatever... but being pragmatic, there is a plane load of...

Altitude Rewards changes to points transfer rate

Interestingly, the table officially listing the changes on the Westpac Altitude Rewards website completely omits Asia Miles. Westpac Altitude Rewards - Changes And below the table is this comment: "Are there any other changes to the program that I should be aware of? From 9 November 2018, the...

Latest Scams in Europe 2018 please

This is to block your vision and provide an annoying physical stimulus that distracts you from an accomplice helping themselves to your wallet etc. Also sometimes done when “selling” newspapers or magazines. I’ve seen a variation of this in London cafe where the “seller” held a newspaper over...
